Hip Kit Club: June 2021 Main Kit Only

 Hi Crafters!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club inspiration & awesomeness!

Today I'm sharing how I've incorporated punches and metal dies from my stash into a

June 2021 Main Kit Only layout.

Yay, such a fun challenge!

Oh, and if you're a mom of boys (or simply just wondering how such a pretty kit can work for boy pages), read on!

Here's my darling son's newest page with the June 2021 Main Kit Only...

"Happy Memories"

Whoa! How awesome is this?! Super cool &  perfect for documenting my sweet boy!

You'll spy punched stars and semi circles, as well as die cut foliage pieces too!

And my favorite die cut? Well, that would definitely be the diamond die that I used to shape my photograph with!

Here's a closer look at it...

So super awesome! That diamond photo is really somethin'! To be honest, it dictated the vertical page arrangement and overall design of the layout. I even aligned my border papers (B sides of Hip Kit Club's Delightful: Lemon Parfait and Pinkfresh Studio's Happy Blooms: Garden) with the diamond photo before I zig zagged them into place.

The blue, teal and purple tones of this layout are so cool and refreshing that they simply add to the chilled out, Summer vibes theme. This contemporary color scheme is then balanced out with pops of striking black & white embellishments. The black and white details really cut through the 'softness' of the colors,  giving a stronger & more masculine feel. You'll notice that I've featured lots of textural elements such as messy machine stitching, distressed cardstock, those amazing Hip Kit Exclusive Wood Veneer Buttons, lots of foam tape and even curled, folded and raised embellishments for the same effect.

The Hip Kit Club Delightful Ephemera  leaves inspired me to create more foliage die cuts to anchor my photo with. I cut these leaves from the B side of Pinkfresh Studio's Happy Blooms: Garden paper, and arranged them with the Delightful leaves, as well as the banners from the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Blooms: Journaling Bits.  The Delightful Wood Veneer Buttons were perfect for added dimension and interest, but I felt like my page needed more black and white details. The solution? I used an old star punch with the B side of Hip Kit's Delightful: Strawberry Crush Paper (white paper with black dot pattern) and sprinkled them throughout the vertical design (because he's my lil super star, of course!).

My semi circle punch was used to support the two die cut clouds. A simple mirroring technique, but so effective!

All the Hip Kit Club Main Kit awesomeness!!! Love it!

I hope my layout has inspired you to get creating with the June 2021 Hip Kits today!

Hip Kit Club February Kits Scrapbook Inspiration - Recipe Challenge!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club inspiration!

Today I am sharing my take on the HKC Weekly Challenge featuring the February 2021 Hip Kits!

This week's challenge is this super fun recipe...

Oh how fun is this?! Plus the Hip Kit Club Design Team have the added challenge of documenting a 'place' (no people to feature in our photographs!) Wow, that's a great challenge!

Here's what I came up with,

"This Is My Happy Place"

Sigh! This place, this beach - it truly is our little piece of paradise! I feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful location & documenting it with the gorgeous February 2021 Hip Kits made it even more pleasurable! There are lots of lovely details to this layout - let's take a closer view...

So stunning! I just adore this fresh and contemporary color scheme for Summer themed pages!

If we work through the recipe check list, I used a mix of pattern paper, Pinkfresh Studio: Some Days collection Chipboard Flair, Simple Stories: Hello Today Decorative Brads and even the Pinkfresh Studio: Some Days Enamel Dots to meet the 'circles' requirement. I fussy cut the paper circles from the Hip Kit Club: Heartfelt collection paper called, Yours Forever. The blue is really striking with the woodgrain and Pinkfresh Studio: Some Days lemon Die Cuts, and who can resist a heart pattern? (especially given my love for this special place!).  So lots, and lots of circles to my design, but then with so many beautiful things in the February 2021 Hip Kits - why not?!

Next on the recipe list is to use at least 3 patterned papers. It's always easy to incorporate a few paper designs into every page as the Hip Kits are so carefully curated that everything coordinates perfectly! I took inspiration from the colors and textures in my photograph, and used the B sides of the Hip Kit Club: Heartfelt papers - Love Connection (woodgrain print) and Cross My Heart (soft gray print). It's no secret that I love a good woodgrain print, and this one had my heart! The third paper was the Yours Forever print, which when teamed with the lemon yellow, crisp Bazzill White Cardstock, and the soft gray and woodgrain was a match made in heaven! (or at least, perfect for documenting my paradise on Earth!) Also, to enhance the woodgrain look, I couldn't resist framing my photo with that fabulous Simple Stories: Hello Today Chipboard Frames courtesy of the February 2021 Embellishment Kit. Love it!

Those Pinkfresh Studio: Some Days Floral Die Cuts are also worth a special mention! I associate lemons with all things Summer - so they were the perfect adornment to my beach paradise page!

The next recipe item is 'hidden journaling'. I actually do this on all my layouts, normally as a letter to my children on the back of my page. That isn't particularly inspiring though, so for the sake of today's challenge, I opted for something different! I created a pocket by gluing only the very edges of the top, bottom and left hand side of my framed photo.  This allowed me to slide in that sweet  Hip Kit Club: Heartfelt Die Cut Tag  which I adhered my typewriter journaling onto. Simple, but so effective!  Here's a closer look at it...

Pockets are a really easy way to hide your journaling, memorabilia and even more personal photos!

The final item on the recipe is 'one big title'. There are a couple of ways to interpret this;  use only one very large word for your project title OR, make one really big title with lots of words - like I did! The soft blue color of  the Pinkfresh Studio: Some Days - Puffy Alphabet Stickers were a subtle touch to my page, and prevented that 'big title' from dominating my design.

Simple, beautiful Summer creating for the Hip Kit Club Weekly Challenge with the February 2021 Hip Kits!

I really hope my layout has inspired you to create with this recipe too!

Please be sure to upload your creations for this challenge in the Hip Kit Club Facebook Group HERE! Not only will you have fun and inspire others, but you'll also go in the draw for the weekly challenge prize! Yay! I can't wait to see what you'll create!

"Hello, Love"

Sigh! SO pretty!!!
For the love of florals and pinks and all the pretty things - this collection is just divine!

Such a beautiful collection for documenting my darling daughter with!
I instantly fell in love with pattern paper THIS STORY and knew I would have to fussy cut it! To make it even more amazing, it has a coordinating stamp & die set which I have also featured in my layout too!
The clear stamp is called Celebrate Today, & I inked mine in permanent black ink before hand coloring the florals with the following Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors: Candy Apple, Bubblegum, Clementine, Sunshine, & Key Lime.
Such a beautiful stamp set!
I am so happy with how these florals turned out - it's hard to pick which florals are mine and which are the manufactured die cut ephemera ones! LOVE it!

I also couldn't resist that stunning floral pattern paper, PROGRESS. The repeat watercolor floral print works beautifully with my design, and of course those Celebrate Today stamped images!

As well as the Celebration stamps and die cuts,  I also included some sewing machine stitching & those stunning Pinkfresh Studio: Essential Jewels for soft texture and interest.

Celebration is such a beautiful collection!

Hip Kit Club: Rainbows, Rollerskates & a Process Video!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club inspiration!
I am SO super excited to be sharing my latest scrapbook layout (& process video) with the gorgeous
Today I am being inspired by the February Mood Board, and in particular, the rainbows, florals, hearts & those rollerskates! You'll also spy the fabulous February HKC Subscriber Exclusive rollerskate cut file - but rather than rave, here's a quick look at my happy-go-lucky vibes page!

"Let's Roll"

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Feb21st-Blog-02

Oh how fun, and whimsical! Such a bright and playful page for my two darlings! I just couldn't resist fussy cutting that rainbow paper from Pinkfresh Studio: My Favorite Story collection (courtesy of the HKC January 2020 Main Kit) and combining it with our amazing rollerskate HKC Exclusive Subscriber Cut File! I mean, rainbows and rollerskates go hand in hand, right?!
If you missed seeing the February mood board, it looks like this....

83086838_3691446797532946_74651127219486720_o

Wow! All kinds of pretty, huh?! You can interpret this board so many ways, and best part, it coordinates with both our January and February Hip Kits - Yay!!! I hope you'll see something that sparks some creativity and inspires you! But back to today's project, here's a better look at my layout.....

HKC-AmandaBaldwin-Feb21st-Blog-01

Sunny + Bright, indeed! So.much.fun!!!
I started my scrapbook page with the beautiful  Bazzill Starmist Cardstockfrom the January Cardstock Kit - such a pretty color for my background and base. Next I backed the fabulous rollerskate HKC Subscriber Cut File with two of the Pinkfresh Studio: My Favorite Story papers from the January 2020 Main Kit, as well as that stunning, sparkly Bazzill Prince Charming Bling Cardstockfor added wow factor! I can't even begin to tell you how ahh-MAY-zing that cardstock is!!!
I fussy cut that divine rainbow, Joyful Heart paper, also from theMain Kit, and layered it onto that fabulous Starmist base. For added interest, I foam mounted every second stripe in the rainbow and then adorned every stripe with tone on tone embellishments from both the January Main & Embellishment Kits. Such a pretty effect!

I framed my main photograph with one of the Pinkfresh Studio Chipboard Frames from the Embellishment Kit, and then positioned it onto that cute skate! To complete the rollerskate, I added lots of the Floral Die Cuts and a Fabric Bow (also from our Embellishment Kit) as well as a couple of the Puffy Phrase Stickers. I layered it all onto the end of the fussy cut rainbow and tucked in my second photo into this cluster. Love it!

I used the White Puffy Alphas (with gold accents, no less!) from the Embellishment Kit to form my title, and then added a subtitle - Sunny + Bright - with thePuffy Phrase Stickers courtesy of the Main Kit. I cut out and adhered a few fluffy white clouds from the Bazzill White Cardstock, and then finished off with a good sprinkling of the Pink Paislee Lucky Us Puffy Shape Stickers.

Such a magical design!
Please watch my process video for a much more detailed look at how my page came together:

Alternatively, you can watch it in Full HD on my channel by clicking the link HERE.
Thanks so much for watching!

I hope I have inspired you to get creating with the beautiful January & February 2020 Hip Kits- they really are divine!!!

Hip Kit Club: Beautiful FALL Layout & Process Video

Hi  Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club: October Kit inspiration!
Today I am sharing a really beautiful and elegant Fall themed page featuring one of our subscriber exclusive cut files, fussy cut pieces and those amazing Vellum Die Cut Leaves from the October 2019 Main Kit.
There are so many gorgeous papers and embellishments in this month's kits, and I just couldn't resist using quite a few of them, as well as drawing on the stunning colors that feature throughout all the kits.
But enough chatter, let's get straight into it!

Here's my layout,

"Beautiful FALL"

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_01

Beautiful, indeed!
Those colors are just errrything!!!
Such a classic & elegant Fall page that not only captures the colors of the season, but also the joy it brings! I couldn't be more grateful for my two children - so very blessed!
Here's better view of my scrapbook page...

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_03

Like the subjects in my Fall photo, the colors in this month's kits totally have my heart!
Inspired by my treasured photograph and the very whimsical trees on pattern paper #7 from the Pink Paislee: Paige Evans Truly Grateful collection, I knew I just had to create a pink and blue Fall page. I started by fussy cutting a bunch of those gorgeous trees from paper #7 courtesy of the October 2019 Main Kit, as well as backing the Beautiful FALL cut file with the Bazzill Typhoon Cardstock from the October 2019 Cardstock Kit
While I was in a fussy cutting mood, you'll spy that I also cut along the scallop edge of Truly Grateful pattern paper #4 (also from the Main Kit), and then repeated this fussy cutting on a strip of that gorgeous Bazzill Typhoon Cardstock.

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_06

I machine stitched those two scallop trims together at the top of my Bazzill Avalanche Cardstock base, and then embellished the top left corner with HKC Exclusive Cozy Up Die Cuts from the Main Kit and Cozy Up Cardstock Stickers from the Embellishment Kit.

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_05

The bulk of my layout occurs in the second third of the page and is a myriad of those gorgeous colors, patterns and textures. I combined lots of those paper #7 trees with the similar styled HKC Exclusive Cozy Up Chipboard Stickers to create a whimsical forest appearance. I fussy cut & adhered the Pinkfresh Studio: Just A Lil Lovely: Chit Chat banners slightly below the center, and then foam mounted my darling photo over the top trim of them.
For a striking title, I not only backed the cut file with the one dominant blue color, I also embellished it with a complementary colored chipboard sticker bow. This clever use of color really pops and brings attention to both my photo and it's title. Perfect!

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_07

I trimmed each 'side' of the cut file with those stunning Pretty Little Studio: Indian Summer: Vellum Die Cut Leaves and added some machine threads and HKC Exclusive Cosy Up Chipboard Stickers to complete the look.

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_04

A really striking and BeautiFALL page!
You can see more of this layout, including how it all came together, in my process video HERE.
Thanks so much for watching!
I hope I have inspired you to get creating with our amazing October Kits and Digital Cut Files!
