Couture Creations: Valentine's Inspiration

Welcome back Creators!

Today I am sharing this delightful lil loved up card
just in time for your special someone on Valentine's Day!

I know, so pretty, huh?!!
Couture Creations really do have beautiful covered!
& as always,
this is so easy to recreate that you'll have no excuses not to make one!

So here's how......

You'll need these awesome Couture Creations products:

& my new favourite product,

And you'll also need this super pretty chippie from our friends at Imaginarium Designs:

Start by preparing your dies - heart in white cardstock & vintage border in soft pink.

Create a card base (12" x 6") in soft pink, score and fold in half.
Create a background base in kraft cardstock (5 3/4" x 5 3/4")
& then a final background using Vintage Rose Garden paper ( 5 1/2" x 5 1/2")
Attach to card base as shown below, and then set card aside.

Using the fabulous new 2 way Glue Pen,
(My absolute favourite adhesive! It sticks all those lil fiddly embellishments & dies perfectly!)
attach elasticated ribbon to the edges of the heart die, as featured below.

Ink up that sweet little chipboard,
and then attach heart and chipboard - using the 2 Way Glue Pen.

Embellish the card with vintage border and blooms......

For finishing touches, add a few pearls.....

(so pretty!)
 &
add your sentinment.

Voila!
A really beautiful card for your someone special in a matter of minutes!

I hope you liked this lil Valentine o'mine!

Art Journaling

Hi my creatives!
Thanks for stopping by to have a peak
at what I've been up to this past few days....

New Year = New Art Journal & Intentions

This year I am really focusing my creative energy on 'TRUST'.
Trusting myself, trusting others, trusting the process & simply being present!
I am letting go of fear & embracing every moment!

I started this week off by sharing some art journaling tips & techniques
with my 8yr old daughter and 9 yr old neice...
& OMGoodness! Did they embrace it!

Here's a peak at what they created......

Love the colours and stamping on this creation!
Super pretty!!!

More gorgeous colours and loving the old school spirograph!

Cool doodle art here... So awesome, huh?!!!
I think they might just be naturals!

This was so much fun, it got me inspired to do some journaling of my own....
This year my journal is an all black pager just for something a lil different.
You might remember the cover from a post last year - well now I am finally putting it to use!

Journal Cover

Opening page.....

Remember - Somedays you just have to create your own Sunshine
A perfect reminder for me to remain focused on trusting myself and not looking to others.
No paint - only a posca pen and doodle art for this one!

Yep, clean, simple & with intention! Love it!

But of course, it was a lil light on colour for me...
So here's my next page
- Believe you can and you are halfway there -

Imaginarium Designs January Creations

Hi my gorgeous creative friends!
A very Happy New Year to you all!

Welcome to my first official Imaginarium Designs DT creations post!
I am so excited!!!

I love, love, LOVE this chipboard
& have been having a blast playing with my new stash over the Summer break!
Here are a few of my creations.......

"B is for Brother" layout

Isn't this the sweetest layout?!!!
I LOVE this photo so very much - it just captures my daughter's sheer adoration of her lil brother!
Because this page is all about these two, I really wanted to achieve a pretty page that had a good balance of both girl and boy elements.
So there's of course apricots/pinks, bright blues, olive greens and a splash of black to add a classic touch and balance all those girly embellishments.

Let's take a closer look.......

To enhance my chipboard phrase, 'B is for brother & best friend' I applied two coats of black gesso. This gave it a fantastic matte finish - which is just perfect for balancing all those other playful colours and blooms.
I used the same finish on the bicycle chippie too!

To keep with the playfulness, I inked my doilies in Island Blue and Avocado inks, and embellished with sentiments.

And how cute are those lil rustic frames?!!
These frames are just divine!!!
Let's take a closer peak at one....

This embellishment is just too cute!!!
By combining my colour palette and layering the chipboard, it brings my whole page together!

To create that rustic looking frame;
Apply a light coat of white gesso.
With a super fine brush, add strokes of navy paint and blend into gesso.
Once dry, edge & stamp with Kaisercraft Ink Pad: Vintage.

Next up, a really sweet and simple girly page........

"Beautiful Smile" layout

Very simple - but oh-so-sweet!
She really does have a 'Beautiful Smile'
Let's take a closer peak......

Such elegant and precisely cut butterflies!
As this is such a clean and 'pure' page,
I've inked my chipboard with soft, matte finish inks only.
So pretty!

Chipboard Featured:

My final creation I am sharing with you today is gorgeously girly Off-The-Page number,

"Live, Love, Laugh" Wall Plaque

Such a pretty gift!
& how stunning are the chippies in this creation?!!!
Let's look closer.....

I adore (& collect) all things Paris -
so naturally the Eiffel Tower is a must have chipboard for me!
It is so intricate! Just Divine!!!
As I had already opened my Circular Doilies & Oval Frames chippies for my first layout, I decided to incorporate them into this pretty wall hanging too.

Loving those doilies!!! I think they're one of my new favourites!
For my title phrase, 'Live Love Laugh'
I have used a matte black paint to ensure a bold finish.
 A really stunning result!
