Couture Creations November Creation #2

Welcome back everyone!

My second Couture Creations post for the month is a super-cool technique that is so on trend,
Shaker Cards!!!

I know, soooo much fun here!

You may have seen this Christmas card that I created for Issue 5 of Creative Inspirations Magazine, using the Merry Little Christmas Intricutz Die: Christmas Stocking.....

I created ‘negative space’ with my die to create ‘windows’ for my patterned paper.
Today I am using that same technique to create this fun Christmas Shaker Card!

Here’s how…..

1. Using your new Couture Creations Trimmer, prepare your white cardstock
-8 x 6”, score & fold in half.
- 3 ¾ x 5 ¾” & adhere to cardstock, as shown.

3. Select your Couture Creations die; I used the Christmas Stocking. (It’s a great fit lengthwise & it’s also a bit of fun - perfect for a shaker card!) Fold your card so that the patterned paper is facing down onto the die, and the back of the card is tucked under the die & run it through your die-cutting machine a few times. Re-position die and repeat, as shown.

4. Place a handful of sequins into a glassine (or cello) bag, seal and attach to inner side of card.

5. Add a sentiment & some of those fabulous gemstones to embellish!

Shake and enjoy!!!!

Such a simple technique, but what a great effect!
(& your children will love making & shaking these cards too!)

I hope I have inspired you to give shaker cards a go!
Thanks for stopping by,

til next time,
Amanda xo

Couture Creations November Creation #1

Hello again, Creators!
Welcome back for more Couture Creations inspiration!

Don’t have a die-cutting/embossing machine?
Or maybe you’re new to papercrafting?
Then this is the post for you!

Today I am sharing just how fabulous the new
 is for card making!
It is so pretty, it just wants simplicity to show it off!

Here are 2 super simple, but oh-so stunning, cards…..

Here’s how you can recreate this second one…

 1. Pre-cut Kraft cardstock to 6 x 6” & fold in half to create card base.
2. Trim Vintage Rose Garden: Florals & Time (green quarter) into 5 ¾ x 5 ¾” & adhere to card base.

 3. Trim 4 strips of Vintage Rose Garden: Butterflies & Stripes (blossom quarter) into 1 x 5” lengths.
 4. Create a template of a fancy shape, and trace evenly onto both ends of each strip.
Using scissors, fussy cut each strip & then adhere to card as shown below.

5. Embellish with velvet trim, lace & butterfly.

 6. Add a few blooms & for that extra special touch,
add Sparkling Champagne Gemstones to both ends of fussy cut strips.

Wow!
So easy & so very pretty!!!

No matter whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie just starting out –
CoutureCreations has something for everyone!
Loving that beautiful Vintage Rose Garden Collection!

Thanks for taking time to read my post today,

til next time,

CMS Challenge #73

Hi everyone!
Welcome back for another fabulous color challenge from CMS with a twist!
Challenge #73 looks like this. ...

And the twist is to feature something on your creation that you're thankful for.
Here's my take on this challenge. ...

"Grateful"

Such a pretty page!

I don't normally scrap myself,
but I am so truly, deeply thankful to be a mum to these 2 gorgeous children!
Words will never describe how much I love, adore and cherish them!!! So very blessed!

*Photography is courtesy of Elska Studios*

This entire page is created from one of my most used,
& totally loved Kaisercraft collections: Mister Fox
Yes, I know, I use this collection a lot - it's just so very easy to create with!
Very natural colours and fabulous collectables to enhance any creation.
That cute birdcage and gorgeous white blooms are also Kaisercraft!
I love that this page is so clean, and uncomplicated -
a bit like my love for my children; so pure and simple!

Anyway, I hope you liked my take on this challenge.
To have a go yourself, and to see what my talented fellow DT members have created,
be sure to visit CMS here!
