Shimmerz Paints: So So Pretty!!!!

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for my second Shimmerz Paints Social Team project for September!
I am so in love with the intenisty and vibrancy of the Shimmerz Paints - SO good!!!
But rather than rave, let's allow my project to do all the talking!

Here's my fun Autumn layout,

"Fall"

Oh sigh! Isn't this just divine?!!
Such a beautiful photograph of my darling daughter!
I really felt inspired by the colours in this image, so that's what my layout is designed around today!
And if we're playing with colour, what could be more perfect than using Shimmerz Paints!

You'll spy a light layer of Acri-Tonez: 3 Sheets to the Wind as my alternative to gesso. It dries really smooth, and is perfect as a primer for your paper projects!
I then sprayed a lil Spritz: Sapphire into a dish, watered it down just a tad, and then applied with both a brush and the packaging technique.
Once dry, I added a few splatters and light spritz of Shimmeringz: Goldie Lox - love the subtly of this golden delight!
Last, but by no means least, I used a star stencil and applied Paste-eez: Puttin' On The Glitz for added dimension, sparkle and interest.
Such a simple mixed media background, and yet oh-so effective!
The scrapbook collection I have featured today is American Crafts: 1Canoe2 Creekside, and I am just loving those fussy cut roses!!!

Here's a few close ups for you.....

The glitz stars are such a delicate and subtle touch!
Here's another view of them....

Really sweet!
But it's the Sapphire Spritz that's the real delight....

That blue is just STUNNING!!! And can you believe that I watered it down?!!
Imagine how intense the colour pigment is! La La LOVE this colour!!!
I think it may be replacing Jeni B Bleu as my favorite Shimmerz Paints product!
Oh, and how pretty are the Goldie Lox droplets?!

SO much awesome going on here!
I hope you liked my layout and feel inspired to try the gorgeous Shimmerz Paints!
And you know what?
Because these products are so awesome,
I created a bonus layout for you today too!
(I know, right? They're truly that fun to play with!)

For my bonus layout, I am taking a completely different approach
and discovering how delicate and soft these amazing paints can be!
Here it is.....

"SO Pretty"

Oh swooooon! Pretty indeed!
So very delicate and divine!
A very feminine and girly page for my beautiful daughter!
For this layout, I have stashbusted my left over odds and ends from Pink Paislee's Paige Evans Oh My Heart collection, and drawn on a very soft and pretty colour combination.
You'll spy that STUNNING Dazzlerz: Tutti Frutti using a Peonies mask, as well as a lil watercolour work with Creameez: Sky's The Limit!
Don't they just look dreamy together?!!
Let's take a closer look.....

You can see why this paste is called 'Dazzlerz', just look at that shine!

To keep with my soft and feminine design, I blotted the Creameez to reduce the colour intensity.
But it's that Tutti Frutti that's the show stopper!
The shimmer is truly just sensational!

Beautiful!

I do hope you like my soft and very feminine look,
with these gorgeous products!

Paper Issues: September Scrap Soup

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for more Paper Issues awesomeness with this month's edition of

This challenge always gets me thinking and creating outside my comfort zone - love it!!!
Such a cool recipe list to work from today too!

Here's my layout...

"Wander"

I've gone all soft, delicate and oh-so pretty for my take today!
With such a gorgeous Fall photograph of my darling girl, I knew I wanted to create something that really reflected her gentle beauty. I was totally smitten with all the pink and rose hues in the new American Crafts: 1Canoe2 Creekside collection, and knew this was the perfect match!
If you look really carefully you'll spot two of my rectangles beneath my photograph, and the other one is a small figure of a leaf journal card.
For my 4 embellishments, I have used that stunning printed Binder Clip, cut files, stickers and those intricate doilies. My arrow rests over the base of my photo, and the tag is beneath it.
So much pretty going on here!
I LOVE the coordinating cut file that Stacie has created for this line,

I have used the two roses in my diagonal layered design,
and back them with the coordinating 6 x 6 Paper Pad papers.
Here's a closer look.......

Absolutely stunning! (& it was super easy to cut too!)
How divine is that Wander heart? It's from the Creekside 6 x 12 Accent Stickers pkt, so are most of the stickers you see here....

Prettiness overload!
La la love it all!

Paper Issues: September Take 5 Tuesday!

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for more Paper Issues awesomeness with the September edition of

Take 5 Tuesday!

This challenge is always so much fun!
Here's this month's list for you to Take 5 from.....

Awesome!
So many fabulous possibilities here, I may have used more than 5 again, lol!

Here's  my layout,
"Adventure Boy"

Wow! Fall / Autumn is my favourite time of year for taking photographs and you can see why!
I've used the beautiful new Creekside collection from 1Canoe2 for this striking page!
From the list you'll spy: gold, brown, leaves, patterned paper, cardstock, & stitching.
Who would've thought that fussy cut roses could work so well on a boy layout?!!
I just love the colour palette here!

Those gorgeous fussy cut roses are from pattern paper,
Midnight Roses, and I just love the golden hues!
Gold is a real feature throughout this stunning collection - just check out those

Totally divine!!!
To maintain a lil masculinity to my layout, I have backed my cardstock with pattern paper, Night Sky, and really drawn on the pale blue and indigo coloured embellishments. Stars are also a bit of a feature to this sweet page!

You'll also spy that I used zig zag stitching to compliment the constellation patterns. Super cool!
I just love how this turned out!

Paper Issues: *new challenge* Scrap Soup

Hi Happy Arty Days Friends!

There's a few new challenges starting this month at Paper Issues,
the first of which is

- Scrap Soup -

You'll get an 'ingredients' list every month from Paper Issues,
but you do all the concocting ;)
Oh, and you must use all items on the list too!
Here's this month's list

Note: The 2 long rectangles have no width requirements, so you can make them as thick or thin, as you like!

Here's my take,
"Dream"

Isn't this the prettiest?! Love this photograph of my two together!
I've stashbusted my Hazelwood 1Canoe2 collection leftovers to create this super sweet layout!
You'll notice that my 11" rectangle is quite thin as I used the bottom of a pattern paper, product label strip for this rectangle. Great way to use up those strips!
Here's a few close ups....

That divine yellow button is from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

Butterflies, blooms & mason jars! Can it get any sweeter?!
Love it!
Hope you liked my take on this fabulous new challenge, and will play along!

Paper Issues: March Roll The Dice

Hi Creatives!

Time for another of my favourite Paper Issues challenges,

This month the dice determined that we would use 3 different washi tapes on our creations as well as only 2 photos!
What a great challenge!
Here's what I created,

"Love"

Love this so much! A beautiful memory here....
I've used the gorgeous American Crafts: 1Canoe2: Hazelwood collection for my entire layout. Yes, even those three gorgeous washi tapes are from Hazelwood! Perfect!
How stunning is the floral tape?!!! All.the.heart.eyes for it!

Speaking of love, how gorgeous is that cork title......

Just stunning! Love the gold heart clip, & the foiled ephemera one too!
Here's another view.....

And how could I not mention those pretty florals!!!
That globe is just divine!

Hi Friends!

It's time for Round 1 of Paper Issues: New Issue!
And this month's issue is super fun and easy to play along with -

I wanted to dive into my stash of 1 Canoe 2's Hazelwood collection, especially those florals...
Here's what I came up with,
"Hello Lovely"

Oh floral delight! Hello lovely, indeed! So very pretty!!!
That second layer of florals (the pink strips) is actually coordinating washi tape from this range - gorgeous huh?!
The gold foil accents in the ephemera pack are pretty stunning.......

SO shiny!!!
Love that tabbed photo clip!

Here's a couple closer looks at those florals, and those sweet butterflies.....

Divine!!!

All those layers!!! Beautiful!

Wow! The ephemera in Hazelwood is really stunning and compliments their pretty pattern papers perfectly!

And there you have it!

Paper Issues: February Working Title

Hi Friends!

Boy oh boy did I LOVE everyone's large titles from last months challenge!
Such a fantastic effort from all who played along!
And speaking of love.....

The challenge for this month is inspired by Valentine's Day & the month of love!

Work your title
& feature the word 'love', or  'heart'
OR,
have a heart icon in the title.
OR,
use a romantic song name as your project title!

With so many options & all those fabulous new lines in the Paper Issues store, this challenge should be tons of fun!

Here's what I created,

"Dream Love"

Isn't this delicate and pretty?!!  Adore my big dreamer girl!
I've used the stunning American Crafts 1Canoe2,  Hazelwood collection.
I absolutely love the florals and gingham patterns in Hazelwood, but it's those super shiny, glossy gold thickers for my title that win me over!  Love, indeed!

Here's a close up of my 'love' title.....

So shiny! I love the cursive script font too!
The other part to my title 'Dream' is also from the Thickers in this collection too, and is such a soft mint green that it was tricky to capture......

So it's very soft, but boy oh boy is it pretty in real life!
I also created my layout with a bit of fussy cutting too, as I just LOVE to cut up all the pretty flowers!

Super pretty!
I hope you'll play along with this fun title challenge!
Upload your creations in the February Challenge Album in our Paper Issues Friends & Facebook Group here
