Kaisercraft: Tutorial Tuesday Plus More!!!

Hi Happy Arty Days Friends!

Welcome back for another super fun Kaisercraft: Tutorial Tuesday!
Today I have a fabulous mixed media layout that features 4 different techniques to try with your Kaisermists!
It is tons of fun, so let's get straight into it ;)
Here's my layout created with the all NEW Sea Breeze collection....
"Love"
IMG_20160410_141211

I know, how awesome is this?!!
I immediately fell in love with the Sea Breeze collection and it's Specialty Gloss paper just beckoned for mixed media goodness!
So many awesome tips and techniques here - enjoy!

IMG_20160410_142226

Our first technique is 'bagging'. To create a really cool effect, with a little more control than spraying your Kaisermist, simply apply with a soft plastic bag. (I use freezer bags but any soft plastic will work).
To apply, simply sponge the Kaisermisted bag in the areas where you want the colour.....

IMG_20160410_142406

Really cool, huh? For this background, I 'bagged' Kaisermist Apple, & Turquoise.

IMG_20160410_142529

Our second technique is to flick the Kaisermist nozzle for a more random, but small, splatter look. I used Charcoal Kaisermist for this effect.

IMG_20160410_142728

Didn't our first two techniques work well to create a fun, background effect? They also really highlight the embossed glossy pattern in the Specialty paper - which creates another layer of texture too!
While that background dries, grab some 400gsm artist paper and get inky!

IMG_20160410_142917

You'll need to use a permanent/waterproof black ink & the stunning new background stamp, Majestic Butterfly. I fill my paper with this stamp, so that I have a few options to get creative with.
Next, I select a few of my Kaisermist colours and use them as an alternative to watercolour paint...

IMG_20160410_143112

(Yes, I paint outside the lines and messy! I don't believe in time wasting & these butterflies are going to be fussy cut. So no need to be careful ;) )
Once my Kaisermist is dry, I use a waterproof, fine point, black pen to 'touch up' any of my stamping.

IMG_20160410_143256

And now, grab your scissors and get fussy cutting! :)

Our fourth technique for fun ways to use your Kaisermists is to use them to hand colour our favourite Wooden Shapes. I sprayed my hearts with Kaisermist: Charcoal.

IMG_20160410_143547

Tip: If the wood veneers are a little porous, allow to dry and then spray a second coat of colour over them.
Now, to get our layout complete, you'll need to die cut the doilies in black cardstock, as shown below...

IMG_20160410_143406

And now it's time to assemble!
Attach some Sea Breeze Collectables, as well as staple some craft wire to the layout as shown.....

IMG_20160410_143720

Next add a couple more of the Collectables, then add the larger doily.

IMG_20160410_143830

Attach your photograph to the smaller doily then adhere to layout. Also attach the large, hand painted Majestic Butterfly in the centre of the large doily. Add a few paper & mini paper blooms in Grape.

IMG_20160410_144019

Finally, add your title and those gorgeous Kaisermisted wooden hearts.

IMG_20160410_144201

Voila!

"Smile"

IMG_20160403_131524

Isn't this cool?! I used the 'bagging' & nozzle 'splatter' techniques on this layout too!
I also used modeling paste & the Designer Template: Cobblestone to add more texture to the background.
 Here's a closer look....

IMG_20160410_145034

Love the 'grungy' feel that the cobblestones create, & how cool are the epoxy star stickers?!

IMG_20160405_102444

So pretty!
And those gorgeous painted stripes? Well, another cool way to use your Kaisermist is to add a few drops to gesso & mix! I love the softness of the colour in this one. The gold pops add a fun element, & keep an eye out for more glitter cardstock coming soon ;)

Here's a closer look......

IMG_20160405_102702

Here's my mixed media take on this very elegant & feminine collection....

"BeYOUtiful"

IMG_20160401_134906

I adore this! So elegant and pretty! And this time, I mixed  few drops of Kaisermist: Candy into my modeling paste and applied with a palette knife and the Lace Template.
Just beautiful!
And yes, there's that stunning Majestic Butterfly Stamp again too - I think it's my new favourite!

Studio Fourteen40: Pastel Pretty!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome back for a lil more Studio Fourteen40 goodness!
I have a couple of  super sweet, pastel, feminine pages to share with you today....
"PRETTY"

IMG_20160405_121756

I think the title sums it up perfectly, don't you think? PRETTY indeed!
I've actually been scrapping my paper stash to make way for more pretty things - but using up scraps never looked so good! It truly is those fabulous Studio Fourteen40 adornments & title that take this layout to beyond the scraps!

Let's take a closer look....

IMG_20160405_122027

Aren't those Alphas simply amazing?! They're actually one of my all-time favourite Studio Fourteen40 products. They are easy to apply, and they look fabulous! I've used the hand drawn Coral - but the rounded pine lime are just as awesome!
You'll find them here in the shop.

And as usual, how incredible are those flair?!! I am a bit of a flair junkie & the soft, pastel ones are just too easy to embellish with. I've used the Confetti Collection - Set 5 - perfect for soft, delicate girly pages!

Here's another look at those flair - love them!

IMG_20160405_122159
I really do love these pretty flair, they really do compliment my pastel patterned papers perfectly!
You'll also spy some gorgeous Charms Creations Clouds and handcoloured crochet Doilies there too - beautiful!
& for finishing touches, who can go past the Bits of Glitz - Gems?!

IMG_20160405_122341

These are stunning lil embellishments that really do add that special touch!
I've used the Disco Fever Gems  & you'll find them here.

The second layout I am sharing with you today is one I created at an online crop - so you may have seen it - but it's just too lovely not to take a closer look at ;)

"How Sweet It Is"

IMG_20160318_154300

I know - gorgeous, huh? A truly beautiful moment to capture & scrap!
That stunning paper collection is 'Felicity' from Pinkfresh Studio & the colours are just perfect for partnering with Studio Fourteen40 flair! Let's take a closer peak....

IMG_20160318_153834

Oh how I love pretty flair! And both the Gelato & Lovely collections are made for sweet pages like this!
I've used the green 'lovely' flair - Set 2 from the lovely collection

& you'll notice that I popped a little cotton thread under the button to add more interest...

IMG_20160318_154544

I also used the multicoloured flair from Set 2 of the Gelato collection

which is also 'dressed' with a little cotton and some sweet die cut ephemera. Love it!

IMG_20160318_154101

Another super sweet, pastel page that is made complete with Studio Fourteen40 embellishments!
& just incase you're over all that sweetness - here's a more vibrant, contemporary layout...

"Remember"

IMG_20160320_151730

Stash busting again & using negative space as an interest point. But again, the star of the layout (apart from my gorgeous Miss) is that fabulous foil flair! I mean, does it get any better than foil flair?!! WOW!
I am needing more of these flair - you can see them all here.
And that's all folks!
I hope my post today has given you some ideas &
inspired you to use a little more Studio Fourteen40 awesomeness in your creating!
til next time,
Happy Arty Days,

Imaginarium Designs: April Creations & a Tutorial

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back for more inspiring projects with our favourite
Imaginarium Designs chipboard.
Today I have a couple of layouts, as well as a tutorial to share with you -
so let's get straight into it!

First up, I am sharing this stunning layout featuring me and the gorgeous Louise Nelson....

"Awesome"

How cool is this? An arty explosion of pop colour, style and fun! I love it!
I've really tried to reflect a balance between both our different styles and personalities with this layout.
Bold and black, wire, arty and stylised - that's all Lou!
Bright pops of colour, fun, hearts and sticker love - that's definitely me!
And as for Marble is the new black, well I think you'll find that Louise and I both have a thing for gorgeous materials and marble is one of them!!!
Two arty friends having fun and sharing our passion for creating.
And the chipboard?
Well, naturally it's designed by the talented Loolabelle herself!
Let's take a closer look.....

How striking are those frames?!!
Black ink for Lou, and pink for me, lol!
Layering chipboard in bold colours creates a stunning result everytime! Love it!
Here's another view...

The black and hot pink really compliment that marble pattern paper too. The paper is from Crate Paper's Hello, LOVE collection. And those really funky and foil stickers are from Typo.
The gold stickers were the inspiration for the gold embossing on the Callout chipboard.....

Love that sparkly gold finish! I removed the inner heart and inked that in Island green to also coordinate with the pattern paper. Really cool.
I had such fun creating this layout - it really came from the heart. Thankyou, Louise!

Next up, I have this super sweet Summery layout of my darling boy at the Seaside....

"DOWN by the SEA"

Isn't this fun?!
It features the stunning Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Hello Sunshine collection, and is just super cute for Summer!
I've combined some of my fave chipboards here to really 'build' a story in my layout.
Let's look a little closer.....

Soft, matte, pastel baby blue ink for those sweet clouds, bold royal blue ink for the title, and a shimmery hot orange ink and mist combination for Nat's pinwheels. So awesome!

To make those pinwheels appear to be Summer suns, I used Kaisercraft: Tangelo ink pad, and then gave a double coating of Kaisermist in Yellow. You don't see the yellow, but it toned down the orange and added so much shimmer to the 'rays'.
And how cute is that cloud with the complimenting flair? Buttons are a really fun and playful embellishment to add to your chipboard.
Super fun, bright and happy!

And last, but not least, here's the tutorial I promised.
I'm not much of a 'special' cardmaker, but occasionally I have something so wonderful happen that I do indulge. This super pretty card is for my darling daughter on Opening Night of the Ballet.
(She is cast to star in The Australian Youth Ballet's production of Mary Poppins - so excited for her & want her to feel our love and support as she takes to the stage!)
She's only just turned 10, so I've used a pretty but also very contemporary colour palette and paper collection to best suit her.
The card is designed to not only offer words of encouragement and recogntion, but also doubles up as on Off The Page keepsake. I hope she likes it!

"Shine, gorgeous!" card and keepsake

I know, it's so pretty huh?!
And it can be recreated in various colour tones & papers to suit your recipients.
Here's how to re-create it....

1. Ink the Emma Frame - avoiding the flourishes. I've used Versa ink in Royal Blue.

2. Coat the flourishes in embossing ink.
I find using the refill nozzle much more controlled for small, intricate details, and you can tidy up the 'blobs' with the end of a pin.

3. Add embossing powder. Dust off excess with a stiff paint brush.
Apply heat & set the powder. I used sparkling Gold Zing by American Crafts.

4. Attach patterned papers to frame. I've featured the Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Free Spirit collection. You'll spy that it has flecks of gold glitter in the paper - coordinating perfectly with the frame!

5. Adhere photograph. I've used Miss M's last ballet exam practice photo, so it really connects with the card's purpose and meaning.

6. Attach to front of card with double sided tape.

7. Embellish frame with blooms, ephemera, title/message etc. I've used the Free Spirit embellishments as they really do partner perfectly with the patterned papers.

8. Last, but not least, add a few rhinestone gems and pearls for finishing touches. All little girls love a bit of bling!

Voila!
A gorgeous card that doubles as a beautiful keepsake Off The Page creation. Just stunning!

You can purchase that divine Emma Frame here.

I hope you enjoyed my post today, and feel inspired to get creating!

*Please be sure to leave a comment to go in the draw to win a pack of chipboard*

Scrap The Boys: April Challenge: My Daddy, My Hero!

Hi Creatives,

Omgoodness! April already?!!!
I wish that was my Fools Day joke and we were actually still soaking up the Summer sun!
But, on the upside, the cooler weather does give us a lil extra indoors time to create ;)

A new month, so naturally, a new challenge over at

Scrap the Boys

This month's challenge is a sweet one...

Naww... My Daddy, My Hero! Such a lovely one for scrapping the boys!
My lil boy adores his Daddy!
But enough chattering, here's my take on it....

"The Best Memories Are Here"

This is one of my fave photos of my special guys!  They really do dote on one another!!!
As it is such a beautiful photo, I didn't want to detract from it - so a simple, classic page design.
I've used the Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Hello Sunshine collection - great for scrapping girls and boys ; but that denim pattern paper really gives a masculine edge to the layout. Love it!
So many super cool embellies in this collection too! Check out those ephemera, veneer and even puffy sticker arrows! Awesomeness!

Anyways, that's my take on this month's challenge - hope you liked it!

(There are some super prizes up for grabs this month too ;)  Just sayin' )
