Imaginarium Designs January Creations

Hi my gorgeous creative friends!
A very Happy New Year to you all!

Welcome to my first official Imaginarium Designs DT creations post!
I am so excited!!!

I love, love, LOVE this chipboard
& have been having a blast playing with my new stash over the Summer break!
Here are a few of my creations.......

"B is for Brother" layout

Isn't this the sweetest layout?!!!
I LOVE this photo so very much - it just captures my daughter's sheer adoration of her lil brother!
Because this page is all about these two, I really wanted to achieve a pretty page that had a good balance of both girl and boy elements.
So there's of course apricots/pinks, bright blues, olive greens and a splash of black to add a classic touch and balance all those girly embellishments.

Let's take a closer look.......

To enhance my chipboard phrase, 'B is for brother & best friend' I applied two coats of black gesso. This gave it a fantastic matte finish - which is just perfect for balancing all those other playful colours and blooms.
I used the same finish on the bicycle chippie too!

To keep with the playfulness, I inked my doilies in Island Blue and Avocado inks, and embellished with sentiments.

And how cute are those lil rustic frames?!!
These frames are just divine!!!
Let's take a closer peak at one....

This embellishment is just too cute!!!
By combining my colour palette and layering the chipboard, it brings my whole page together!

To create that rustic looking frame;
Apply a light coat of white gesso.
With a super fine brush, add strokes of navy paint and blend into gesso.
Once dry, edge & stamp with Kaisercraft Ink Pad: Vintage.

Next up, a really sweet and simple girly page........

"Beautiful Smile" layout

Very simple - but oh-so-sweet!
She really does have a 'Beautiful Smile'
Let's take a closer peak......

Such elegant and precisely cut butterflies!
As this is such a clean and 'pure' page,
I've inked my chipboard with soft, matte finish inks only.
So pretty!

My final creation I am sharing with you today is gorgeously girly Off-The-Page number,

"Live, Love, Laugh" Wall Plaque

Such a pretty gift!
& how stunning are the chippies in this creation?!!!
Let's look closer.....

I adore (& collect) all things Paris -
so naturally the Eiffel Tower is a must have chipboard for me!
It is so intricate! Just Divine!!!
As I had already opened my Circular Doilies & Oval Frames chippies for my first layout, I decided to incorporate them into this pretty wall hanging too.

Loving those doilies!!! I think they're one of my new favourites!
For my title phrase, 'Live Love Laugh'
I have used a matte black paint to ensure a bold finish.
 A really stunning result!

Couture Creations January Post

Hello again, my creative friends!

Welcome back for more Couture Creations inspiration!
Today I am sharing a gorgeous lil off-the-page number....

Isn't this such a pretty wall frame?!!
And, like most of my creations, it is super easy to make
(yes, another lazy crafter moment!)
Let's do it!

You will need a rustic or shabby frame for this creation
(mine was a cheap $3 canvas frame that I removed the canvas from,
I just gave a few coats of watered down white gesso to add to it)

You'll also need these fabulous dies cut & ready to go....
& Vintage Rose Intricutz Die: Cuckoo Clock in kraft & black cardstock.

Start by adhering the vintage borders and daisy doily, as shown above.

Embellish doily with flowers and butterflies.

Attach cuckoo clock, and embellish with bird and nest.
For a more finished look, add a pearl to the clockface centre.

Add pearls to the butterflies also (to soften the harshness of the frame).
Cut out a sentiment from the Vintage Rose Garden paper collection
and attach to the doily cluster.

And you're done!
Yes, a beautiful shabby frame in only 5 simple steps!
Those fantastic dies really do make the frame!

Thanks for joining me today,
I really hope you liked this "Naked Canvas" creation!

'til next time,
Happy Arty Days,
Amanda xo
