The Cut Shoppe: XOXO With Love!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more The Cut Shoppe digital cut file inspiration!
Today I'm sharing a Happy Heart Day themed layout featuring the awesome With Love file!

"XOXO"

Sigh!!!!
All.the.heart.eyes for these two darlings!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
And the best part?
The With Love file is a FREE one! Yessss!
Love me a freebie!
Here's a closer look at the file.....

Download your Freebie FriYAY With Love cut file HERE.
Let's take a closer look at all this Valentine's sweetness......

I cut the With Love file in a pretty watermelon red cardstock, then back it with pattern papers from Crate Paper's Main Squeeze collection. Using my Fine Liner, I glue the back of the cut file - but only along the outline of the large heart. I attach it to my big photograph, and once dry, I fold all the connecting smaller hearts (a bit like butterfly wings) & then fussy cut the excess photo away.
The result is simply stunning!!!
The large black and white photo is so striking against all that pink & red!
& I just love the texture and dimension the folded hearts create!

For added interest, I create a light layer of mixed media to mount the With Love file & photograph onto. I've used Shimmerz Paints Vibez in Sweetheart & Razzeldazzel Berry around the edge of where the heart  will be positioned. So many pretty splatters and droplets!
**Remember if you're shopping in the Shimmerz Paints store HERE to type code AMANDA in the comments section of your order to receive a FREE paint**
(no minimum spend, not valid with any other offers & code has unlimited order use)

I use the glossy black Main Squeeze 6 x 12 Puffy Phrase Stickers for my title, & subtitles. The remainder of my layout is lots of embellishing with an assortment of puffy hearts, heart stickers, glitter hearts and even sequins!

Simple, sweet & a perfect cut file for any of your Heart Day projects!
I hope I've inspired you today!

Thanks so much for visiting,
Hope you all have a very Happy Heart Day on the 14th!

Paper Issues: May: MOM Turned Upside Down Spells WOW

Hi Creatives!

A new month signals lots of new challenges at Paper Issues!
Today I am sharing this fun Mother's Day inspired challenge...

Well of course your MOM is WOW!!! That makes perfect sense to me! Lol!
I just love being a Mom!
I know everyone says that, but truly, I wish I could have more children!
Absolutely the BEST part of my world!
So here's a pic of me with my boy, just happy being together...

"LOVE"

Oh what a darling! And yes,
Life is always better TOGETHER
He was only little here, just a few months away from turning 3 and such a cutie!
We always have the best times together, and that is what Mother's Day is all about for me!
Reflecting on how wonderful this life is!

But enough of the soppy stuff - we're here for the love of paper!
And oh my heart, Paige Taylor Evans has done it again!
Her new Pick Me Up line is oh so pretty, and I just couldn't resist teaming it up with our gorgeous Fab-YOU-lous Florals cut file!

You can download this awesome file for free HERE

I love the look of white on white, so soft and delicate!
Here's a closer look for you....

My heart is SO full! Love this!
You'll notice that I cut my pattern paper into a circle and use it as base for my cut files, doilies & photo cluster. This creates the appearance of an inverted wreath - and helps to balance all that white!
I embellish with 6 x 12 Accent Stickers, Puffy Stickers & Chipboard.

The Ephemera Die Cut butterflies are just the sweetest and add a hint on color to this soft and subtle page!

My heart is full, indeed!
I hope my layout has inspired you to play along with this Mother's Day themed challenge!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio: More Than Words Scraplift!

Hi Creative Friends!

My turn on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today & I am so excited to be sharing my take on this week's DT assignment - scraplift a fellow designer!
This is a MUCH harder task than it sounds!
We have so many incredibly talented creatives on our team, and choosing just one layout to lift was quite a challenge!
In the end, I decided to lift this gorgeous layout by Elodie Lusseau.....

Gosh this is stunning!!! Such a beautiful layout!
From the lovely layers to pretty florals, this layout has it all! You can see why I wanted to lift this!
And here's my take on it using the stunning More Than Words collection,
"Love You"

*sigh!*
The More Than Words collection makes me swoon every time I see it! So, so pretty!
You'll notice that I pretty much copied Elodie's design (why change perfection?!) but I did mirror / flip it, to better suit my photograph. And speaking of my photograph, isn't she the sweetest? Happy girls are the prettiest! All dressed up as a Pink Lady from the Grease movie for her Poppa's 60th birthday! SO cute!

Just like Elodie's original, I start with a pretty floral base paper. I used the sweet CV-MT007 DARLING BUDS - I just adore this pattern and could do with at least 20 sheets of it!!!! So pretty! I then add an 11" x 11" white cardstock background, in keeping with my fairly light photo. The half inch wide paper trim is from the reverse side of  CV-MT007 DARLING BUDS - yep, even the B side is awesome! And then comes the fun part - embellishing!!!

I lightly sketch a pencil circle frame around the photo cluster to maintain Elodie's design integrity. I matte my photo onto that dotty print paper from the  6 x 6 PAPER PAD, and then add a doily beneath, before layering it all onto those sweet CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKERS frames. The frames are dressed up with those super sweet FLAIR BUTTONS, picture perfect indeed!

Top and bottom opposing corners of the photo get the DIE CUT EPHEMERA AND VELLUM ACCENTS blooms treatment, as well as some pretty butterfly cut file details!

More CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKERS are applied - you can never have too many butterflies! (& let's not forget that divine deer!) and of course, my CHIPBOARD TITLE STICKERS too! For finishing touches, I add some pretty ENAMEL SHAPES. Simple, sweet and oh so pretty!

Let's take a more detailed look....

Oh deer! Could it get any lovelier?!! Chipboard never looked so sweet! Loving the flair details on the frames too!

How cute is that sentiment heart?!! It's been fussy cut from pattern paper, CV-MT006 TREASURE and layered onto one of those delicate cut file butterflies. (The cut file is courtesy of the Free Files section in the Paper Issues store) Chipboard and ephemera butterflies surround this heart, and add to the pretty floral cluster too!
Such a gorgeous, feminine look!

More deer love with that divine FLAIR BUTTON! And how perfect is that darling buds pattern frame?!!
Speaking of darling buds, let's take a closer look at the die cut cluster of them.....

Swoon!
It's no secret that I heart #alltheflorals but seriously, I don't think they get any prettier than this!!!
More Than Words is prettiness overload! LOVE it all!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my take on designer Elodie Lusseau's beautiful layout!
No matter which Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection you use, your memory keeping is sure to be gorgeous!

Paper Issues: March Scrap Soup

Hi Creatives!

Welcome back for more Paper Issues awesomeness with this month's edition of Scrap Soup!

This month's recipe challenge is super fun!
Simply feature the following ingredients (or more) to whip up your creation with .....

3 embellishments
6 hearts
2 patterned papers
chipboard title
stamping

*Feel free to add anything else you need but your project must include those items*

And here's my layout....

"Happy"

Oh isn't this just the sweetest, and most dreamy girl page!!!
It absolutely kills me that she is growing up so fast, but boy oh boy is she a delightful and happy young person!
So very proud of her!

I have used the Echo Park Fashionista collection, and as you can see, it's just perfect for documenting our teen girls (and shop-a-holics too!)
You'll also spot the Open Hearts Circles cut file

Such a fun design!
And, as always, the Paper Issues cut files are completely FREE!
You can get yours HERE

Now back to my layout.....

I  just adore this photo of our sweet Miss M!
It was a silly out take, but the expression on her face is so happy! Love it!
I layered her photo onto a few frames, pink tissue paper, and a doily.
I embellish this photo cluster with a few die cuts and enamel dots too.

I back the cut file hearts with a mix of pattern papers from the Fashionsita line, and embellish some with sentiments, die cuts and even tiny heart veneers.
I wanted to keep the layout fairly 'clean' so I kept my stamping quite minimal.
I repeat stamp the tiny XO in hot pink.
(The stamp is an old roller stamp in my stash, from Kikki K).
But it's that divine gold foil chipboard title that really adds that finishing touch to my page.....

Isn't that title WOW!!!
The foil is so good that you could be fooled into thinking that this chipboard is possibly a mirror acrylic. But no, it is honestly chipboard!!!
And it has been hoarded in my stash for sometime now! lol.
So glad I used it on this pretty, girly page! Perfect!

And there you have it!
My super pretty take on this month's Scrap Soup challenge!

Shimmerz Paints: Major Heart Eyes for Color Stories Inspiration!

Hi Happy Arty Days Friends!

Time for another awesome installment of Shimmerz Paints delights!
This month Paper Issues Partnered Up with Color.Stories.Inspiration and I was so inspired by the mood board that I had to create with it for a second time!
(yep, this is my round 2 entry - lol!)
I mean, the colours are just stunning!
And when it comes to colour, Shimmerz Paints has got you covered!

Here's another look at that moodboard......

And here's what I created using that stunning color scheme......

"Major Heart Eyes"

Major heart eyes, indeed!
What a cutie! And such a bright & fun page to reflect his happy personality!
I used the playful Amy Tangerine, Hustle & Heart collection and combined it with my favourite Shimmerz Paints: Dazzlerz & Paste-eez!
Unfortunately, I don't have a hot orange or light blue in my pastes stash...
This is a gorgeous white, which I color mixed to create my 'missing' colors from the color scheme.
Here's how....
On an artist's mixing palette, I combined 3 drops of orange food dye to one part Salt of the Earth for that stunning hot orange.
That pretty light blue was created with 1 spritz of Vibez: Jeni Be Bleu to one part Salt of the Earth. I LOVE how pretty this turned out!
Shimmerz Paints are just Aaaah-mazing!

You'll also spot Dazzlerz: Pucker Up Pink and Sour Apple in my mixed media background. All colours were applied with a palette knife, at the same time - no drying between colours. Allowing for lots of colour blending and tonal work.
Ga ga gorgeous!

Here's a few close ups for you.....

The blending between the hand mixed orange, and Pucker Up Pink is just sensational!

& that Sour Apple green is just divine!
The cut file is a FREE one from the Paper Issues store; you can download it HERE

Yep! When it comes to mixed media and all the painty things,
It's all about the color! The Shimmerz Paints colors!

I hope my take on the CSI challenge has inspired you to get out your Shimmerz Paints and play along too!

*Did you know if you type AMANDA in your Shimmerz Paints store order HERE
you'll receive a freebie?!
Yessss! AMANDA = free paint

Pebbles Night Night: Dream Big!

Hi Creative Friends!

The all new Pebbles Night Night baby collections are so dreamy, delicate and divine!
And lucky, lucky me, as only 2 months ago we welcomed a new nephew into our family!
He is the most darling little cherub ever!
Today I am sharing some of those first cuddles & night time snuggles moments with our
Night, Night baby boy line. SO precious!

Here's my layout, "Dream Big"

Oh isn't this just swoon worthy?!! Told you it was close to my heart!
I don't know what melted my heart more - our new baby nephew or the love that my five year old son had for him! You can see how perfect & delicate this collection is for all our babies!
Oh how I love newborns!!!
But enough goo-ing and gah-ing from me,
here's how I created this beautiful newborn page.....

I started by looking through all the PRINTED CARDSTOCK SHAPES, and despite all the sweet sail boats & ocean friends, I  just couldn't go past the clouds! Clouds are so dreamy, & when I laid eyes on pattern paper, SWEET DREAMS, I knew I was going to create a sweet nighty, night and lullabies inspired layout.

As my photos are quite dark, I wanted to ensure a good balance between the delicate nature of the photos and the boldness of the pattern paper - the free Cloudy Circle Cut File from Paper Issues was the perfection solution! I backed the clouds with the reverse side of pattern paper, GONE FISHING, and then filled the 'circle' with SWEET DREAMS.

I love how this looks already! Those pattern papers are stunning!

With the designer's 'rule of 3' in mind, I decide to use each cut file cloud as an anchor for my sweet photos. I tuck my first of three photos into the cloud on the left side.
I also attach the kite from the PRINTED CARDSTOCK SHAPES too, before adhering it all onto my white cardstock base.

I glue my remaining two photos onto the cut file clouds, and embellish them with those fabulous PRINTED CARDSTOCK SHAPES.
I use adhesive foam dots beneath all the clouds to create dimension and add interest.

I apply the coordinating GRAYSON THICKERS for my title, which I curve around my starry night scene.

The silver Thickers are just stunning!

Play time now! I embellish around my circular design, selecting an array of moon, star and clouds stickers.
And voila!
So much fun, and oh so dreamy too!
Here's a couple close ups for you....

How fabulous is that 6 x 12 ACCENT STICKERS moon?!! Super cute!

Nawwwww!!!! SO precious!
I hope I have inspired you to create with this beautiful new collection!
