Pebbles: My Bright Life: Happy Layout!

Hi Friends!

I just love it when Jen Hadfield releases a new Pebbles collection!
And the gorgeous new My Bright Life will make you sigh!!! SO beautiful!
Today's creative assignment for the Pebbles DT was to share something that 'makes you happy' - so you'll spot quite a few happy things in my layout!
Here's what I'm sharing with you....
"So Precious"

Oh.my.heart! SO precious, indeed! And so many elements that 'make me happy' too!
Obviously, my children are my world and had to form the main feature of my project, but then you'll also notice the 'little things' that make me happy! Like butterflies and hearts, twine bows, pom poms, florals, & all the pink and blue. Happy days!!!
Here's how you can recreate this pretty page...
1. Start with 2 sheets of pattern paper Flower Rows & a heart shaped cut file. The one I used is from the Paper Issues store called Butterfly Heart Love.

2. Prepare the layout base. Trim a sheet of white cardstock to 11" x 11" and adhere to the reverse (blue) side of one of the Flower Rows papers.

3. Back the cut file. I use a pretty pink pattern from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad  to back the butterfly.

And the other sheet of Flower Rows to back the heart with!

So pretty already!
4. Use American Crafts Double-Sided Super Sticky Red Tape to adhere pom pom trim to the heart edge.

5. Position the heart file onto the layout, and lightly trace around it with pencil. Remove the cut file, and blend Metallic Cream Chalks around the outline.

These are super fun to play with and have a really soft result! I used the light pink and blue for my layout. Once complete, adhere the backed cut file to the page.
6. Take pattern paper Tag, You're It and cut out the 'I Love You' tag.

7. Embellish the heart with 2 Dimensional stickers and add an Ephemera butterfly to the center of the cut file butterfly.

8. Embellish photo with the I Love You tag (& twine), Ephemera, & a Dimensional Sticker.

9. Add a few layers of pink tissue wrap beneath the photo cluster, and attach to the layout.

10. Add a title with gold foil Thickers.

11. For finishing touches embellish with 6 x 12 Accent Stickers, Ephemera and even a Puffy Sticker.

So beautiful! THIS makes me happy!!!
Here's a few close ups for you....

That photo cluster is just divine!

Gah! So precious!!!

Love, love, love!
I hope you do too!

Shimmerz Paints: More New Colors FUN!

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for more Shimmerz Paints inspiration!
Today I am shining the spotlight on our gorgeous new Shimmerz colors!
These colors are perfect for documenting those Summer memories with!
Here's what I've created with them today....

"Together"

Oh, isn't this pretty?!!
Gorgeous, shimmering colors & fussy cut blooms = Summer perfection!
Loving this pretty combination!
Here's a closer look for you...

I've combined my Shimmerz colors with Dear Lizzy's Stay Colorful line and the
Let's Go free cut file from Paper Issues.
You'll spy Shimmerz in the following colors:

I used these shimmering delights to create that gorgeous mixed media base......

You'll see that I start by penciling just inside where my cut file will be positioned.
This really just guides me on where to apply the color.
Next, I take the fabulous Limoncello and apply it around the Let's Go free cut file shape using the packaging technique.
I smear a little of the Magenta & Going Peach Side into the Limoncello, while it's still wet.
I love how these complimentary colors interact!
I splatter all these colors, plus Pink-O-De Mayo around the cut file shape then dry it all off before adding It's Mint To Be and Pool Me Closer.
I just love how this turns out!

The vibrancy and shimmer in these colors is aaaah-mazing! Love, love, LOVE!
The rest of my layout is a mix of embellishments and fussy cut flowers.
I mount my cut file and photo onto a thick layer of cardboard to really make it pop and stand out on the page.

I even hand stitch the cut file heart with hand colored twine!

So, so gorgeous!
Such a beautiful Summer moment to document too!

My title is a Puffy Sticker from the Elle's Studio Family Fun collection. Isn't it divine?!

Just look at all that shimmery goodness !!!

No matter which way you look at it, these new Shimmerz colors are to die for!

Inspired by the Spring theme, I have used Fancy Pants Designs: The Bright Side collection for my take on it!
Here's my layout,

"It's a Beautiful Day"

Oh isn't this so super pretty & fresh?!!
I just adore this new collection!
The Bright Side, indeed! Love!

I have followed Anita's design, but opted for pretty florals and birds, over tags and bunnies. Cute!
I even featured a cut file in the photo cluster just like the original.
I used my fave Paper Issues cut file again, lol!

Paper Issues: May: MOM Turned Upside Down Spells WOW

Hi Creatives!

A new month signals lots of new challenges at Paper Issues!
Today I am sharing this fun Mother's Day inspired challenge...

Well of course your MOM is WOW!!! That makes perfect sense to me! Lol!
I just love being a Mom!
I know everyone says that, but truly, I wish I could have more children!
Absolutely the BEST part of my world!
So here's a pic of me with my boy, just happy being together...

"LOVE"

Oh what a darling! And yes,
Life is always better TOGETHER
He was only little here, just a few months away from turning 3 and such a cutie!
We always have the best times together, and that is what Mother's Day is all about for me!
Reflecting on how wonderful this life is!

But enough of the soppy stuff - we're here for the love of paper!
And oh my heart, Paige Taylor Evans has done it again!
Her new Pick Me Up line is oh so pretty, and I just couldn't resist teaming it up with our gorgeous Fab-YOU-lous Florals cut file!

You can download this awesome file for free HERE

I love the look of white on white, so soft and delicate!
Here's a closer look for you....

My heart is SO full! Love this!
You'll notice that I cut my pattern paper into a circle and use it as base for my cut files, doilies & photo cluster. This creates the appearance of an inverted wreath - and helps to balance all that white!
I embellish with 6 x 12 Accent Stickers, Puffy Stickers & Chipboard.

The Ephemera Die Cut butterflies are just the sweetest and add a hint on color to this soft and subtle page!

My heart is full, indeed!
I hope my layout has inspired you to play along with this Mother's Day themed challenge!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Little Moments

Hi Friends!

My turn on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today!
I am sharing a More Than Words scrapbook layout that highlights our gorgeous FLAIR BUTTONS, as well as scraplifting our super talented Ulrike Dold! Yay!
So much inspiration! Let's get started!
Here's my layout,
"Little Moments"

Sigh! Isn't this pretty?!!
Pattern paper CV-MT001 PRECIOUS is SO divine!!!
I have a thing for florals and I *may* have been hoarding this paper! It's just so beautiful!
Speaking of beautiful, how fabulous is the filled wreath design from Ulrike? SO good! You can see more of Ulli's work here.
Now back to that gorgeous floral paper, PRECIOUS! The soft colours in the blooms are reflected in my mixed media background, and are just the prettiest! You'll also spy that wreath cut file (it's from Paper Issues) and the daisies in particular, are perfect for adorning with FLAIR BUTTONS.
With so much to look at here it's important that my photo remains the focus. So it doesn't get lost in all those blooms I use a black & white picture, as well as adding a CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKER frame to make it more noticeable.
 Let's take a closer look.....

All those pretty layers!!!
And that photo is just the sweetest! Love these two cherubs!
On closer view, you'll see that I actually mounted the paper backed wreath onto foam. Apart from adding dimension and interest to the design, it also creates a visual separation between the coordinating mixed media base and the PRECIOUS paper. Defined space gives the eye a sense of order and avoids the 'messy' look despite the painterly base. In between the paint and the foam mounted wreath, I also tuck in a few DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms, as well as that very pretty ACCESSORY STICKER tag.

So dear to me, indeed!

I fold the cut file daisies and leaves upward, adding more dimension because I am conscious that I don't want the colours and blooms to all blend in together. My framed photograph is tucked in under that first daisy and then more DIE CUT EPHEMERA pieces are added to this cluster. Each daisy is adorned with a sweet FLAIR BUTTON as its centerpiece.

Simple, but oh-so-sweet and effective!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio create beautiful FLAIR & it's wonderful to be able to showcase how perfect they are! A 'must have' embellishment! I should add that the sequins that are scattered throughout my layout are from the Bits & Pieces in the Love Always collection.
To break up all the flowery goodness, I've added a few DIE CUT EPHEMERA butterflies to the wreath and adorned the outer wreath with CHIPBOARD and ENAMEL SHAPES hearts.
Here's another look at the beautiful FLAIR BUTTONS....

The You Are Loved FLAIR is such a soft grey that I mount it onto an ACCESSORY STICKER before applying to the daisy. In keeping with my design, you'll note that the sticker is in fact a PRECIOUS pattern wreath. Perfect! I love how everything always partners and coordinates beautifully in our collections! So good!

To add more emphasis and attention to my photo, I also add that pretty blue sentiment banner to the frame. The blue really contrasts against the apricot frame and is the perfect finishing touch!
Voila!
I hope my scraplift today has inspired you to use FLAIR BUTTONS in your projects!

Thanks so much for visiting!
