Elle's Studio: Product Spotlight: Good Times Paper!

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio awesomeness!

Today I'm shining the Product Spotlight on the Good Times 6 x 8.5inch Paper Stack - Yay! I just adore all the bright colors and bold patterns in this fun paper stack, plus the designs are super versatile too! Rather than rave about my love for the Good Times Paper Stack, let's take a look at what I've created,

"Hello Summer"

Hello, indeed! All the Summertime vibes!

Elle's Studio Supplies: Good Times 6x8.5inch Paper Stack, June 2021 Kit, Stars and Stripes Chipboard Stickers, Acetate Star Stickers, Cork Labels, & Patriotic Acrylic Stars.
Other Supplies: White Bazzill Cardstock, & Sewing Machine Stitching.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating with the Good Times Paper Stack, so to showcase these beautiful papers I decided to use 5 different designs on my scrapbook layout. Let's take a closer look at how I achieved this...

To start with, I opted for a playful machine stitched, layered rectangles design. This is such a fun look and is super easy to make! I trimmed 4 of the Good Times pattern papers to 1 1/2inches wide by 2 1/2inches long, and arranged them in descending rows from 5 paper rectangles down to 2 rectangles.

I machine stitched across the top of each paper row, and to add a bit more interest, lightly rolled the paper rectangles. This really enhanced the 'lift the flap' appearance of the Good Times paper rectangles - simple but so effective!

The fifth paper featured on this page is that awesome black and white crosses design. I used this Good Times paper to back my foam mounted photograph with. The contrast of black and white against all those brightly colored paper rectangles is really striking and draws further attention to my photograph too! Winning!

Even though the Elle's Studio Paper Stacks are 6x8.5inches, I love to maximize them and form the appearance of them being a full 12 inches. On this layout, I perfected this look at the base of my layout by butting two 1 inch by 6 inch lengths of the same paper together. To make the paper joins less visible, I positioned my June Kit 3x4inch fussy cut note cards Hello Summer title over them both.

To complete my layout, I embellished with a mix of Cork Labels and all the stars from the June release. A really beautiful page thanks mostly to those Good Times papers!

Tell me, what will you create with the fabulous Good Times Paper Stack papers?

Elle's Studio: June & July Kits - Summer Mini Album

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio Summer inspiration!
Today I am sharing a super quick & easy mini album made from my 'left over' items from the
Elle's Studio June & July releases.
It only takes a few minutes to create this mini and it is perfect for recording those sweet Summer memories! Yay!
Here's a lil look at my album cover.....

So bright, cute 'n' fun!

Other: Sewing Machine Stitching,  & ribbon

The Summer Fun 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack papers are the perfect mix of Summer colors and patterns, and made for a terrific album cover! I decorated mine with a couple die cuts from the July Kit, one of the July Labels, a Summer Chipboard Sticker, and that cute heart veneer!

Tip: The heart veneer is actually the 'Wild At Heart' veneer from the Adventure Wood Veneers, but I flipped mine to the blank side to better suit my project!

To create my simple flip album, I backed the Summer Fun cover paper with the purple print from the Bright Polka Dot 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack and adhered together. I repeated this step with 2 more papers, so I ended up with 2 double sided 6 x 8.5 inch papers in total. I scored & folded both sheets at the 4 1/4 inch mark, and machine stitched them together across the scored line to form my album. Yep, it's that simple! And as I mentioned earlier, a great lil mini for using up all your scraps with!
Let's look inside....

Hello, indeed! The Bright Polka Dot purple paper coordinated perfectly with the 'hello' note card from the July 2020 Kit. I chose to decorate these pages very similarly to a four, 3 x 4 inch pocket page (minus the pockets) & let my photos do most of the talking. I added a little bit of story telling with the Summer Stickers, then embellished my photos and album with a couple of the Chipboard and Summer Tape Stickers.
Here's a closer look....

Super sweet for Summer!

Here's the next pages...

The landscape orientation of my photographs meant that I could only fit one photo per page - but I think these pages turned out just fine! To encourage cohesion between them, I backed both photos with the light purple journal cards (courtesy of the June & July 2020 Kits) & kept to similar embellishments. This time I combined gray with the purple color palette to create a really fresh and clean look. The gray Chipboard & Label Stickers look really effective together, and the Summer Stickers were utilised again for some simple journalling.
Love it!

The final page to this sweet Summer Mini is slightly different to the others. I have still used the same purple color scheme and mix of Chipboard, Summer Tape & Summer Stickers to embellish with but, I have also left lots of space to hand write the story. This is a really important detail to me - I want my children to write their own little sentence or two about this Summer. I think that in years to come they will really value what they've both recorded. As both of them will need to write something, I have left space on both pages.

Such a simple, and sweet Summer Mini!
I hope you'll feel inspired to make your own today -
go on, it only takes a few minutes & you'll be so glad you did!
Happy Summer Memory making!

Thanks so much for visiting,

Elle's Studio: Product Spotlight - June Digitals!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio inspiration!
Today I am shining the product spotlight on the fabulous June 2020 Printables aptly titled, Summer Snapshots.
It's no secret that I LOVE the versatility of digital products,
but when combined with the awesome colors and designs that Elle is famous for, well, it needs no explanation!
Happy crafting days!
But enough chatter, here's what I created with the June 2020 Printables,

"Summer Snapshots"

Other: Bazzill Cardstock - Avalanche, Stamping Ink - Black, Light Blue & Mint, Sewing Machine Stitching, Pom Pom Trim, & Sequins.

Oh.my.stars! Quite literally, all those stars!
Such a delicate & divine approach to Summer documenting.
Perfect for that sweet photo of my darling boy, when he was just a toddler, nawww!
Let's take a closer look.......

So soft & dreamy!
As soon as I saw the Summer Snapshots journaling tag with the large star on it, I knew I would create something magical! I individually selected this journaling tag in my Windows software, pressed print, and chose to print 4 copies of it in the 9 x 13cm size, in the Print Pictures screen.
Once printed, I used a craft knife to cut out one of the star shapes, and backed this card with my photo. This created a fabulous frame and focal point for my photograph.

Such a simple idea, and yet so effective! Love it!
Inspired by this star, and a love of fussy cutting, I cut around the remaining 3 stars ensuring the mint green color outlined each one. I love repetition in design, and I couldn't help but use all the stars! I fussy cut the small blue stars from one of the 6 x 4 journal cards from the June Kit and adhered them with foam tape throughout my layout. I also used that star label die cut to mount one of the sentiments from the Chipboard Star Stickers too!

The star pattern paper from the Summer Fun 6 x 8.5" Paper Stack didn't stand a chance, and naturally, I had to feature it. With the presence of so much blue in my page, I revisited the Summer Snapshots Printables. I printed, then cut out, the blue 'Summer Snapshots' journal card. I foam mounted this fussy cut sentiment and created my layout title.

This awesome title then inspired the use of banners throughout my layout.
I trimmed the star pattern paper into a pennant style banner, which I then layered my framed photo onto. I also used the gray polka dot paper from the Summer Fun pack, and crafted an over sized banner label which I adhered to my white cardstock base.
I machine stitched the blue star banner onto the polka dot one, and then continued to adorn my scrapbook page with stars and banners.

For a finished and polished look, I completed my layout with a mix of color coordinating sequins from my stash, and those amazing Summer Fun Stamps! I stamped the stars in mint and pale blue inks, and used black ink for my 'summer tradition' journaling.

Who would've thought that the humble pocket card printable could be so amazingly beautiful
 (& versatile)?!
I hope I have given you some new ideas on using the wonderful Elle's Studio Digitals in your everyday documenting, and that you feel inspired!

Elle's Studio: More June Kit Inspiration!

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio: June Kit inspiration!
Summer is my favorite season, & I just couldn't resist adding a lil sunshine into today's layout -
Here's what I'm talkin' 'bout....

"Summer Snapshots"

For the love of Summer, sunshine & sunbursts!
Whoa!
The June Kit is outta this world!

Other Supplies: White Bazzill Cardstock, & Pale Blue Tissue Paper

Let's take a closer look at this striking sunburst page....

Inspired by the theme & colors of my family photograph, I knew I wanted to create a page that evoked all the Summer vibes. As soon as I saw the yellow sun pattern paper in the Summer Fun Paper Pack, I knew I would have to use it!
However, unlike my usual butting of two papers together to create the illusion of a full 12" paper, I had to get a little creative to make this design work.

To form the sun, I had to trim the first sun paper to 6 inches long, and then rotate the second sun paper, and trim it to 6 inches wide. Now, when combined these two sun papers became one large radial 6" x 12" sun  - awesome!
To add extra dimension, & texture to this sun, I cut along all the sun rays, distressed all the edges and foam mounted all the pale yellow segments. For added impact, I also added a half inch trim of the blue striped pattern paper (also from the Summer Fun Paper Pack) beneath this sun.
To keep my design uniform, I lightly distressed the edge of this paper too.
So effective!

I layered my photograph onto a couple of the 3" x 4" note cards from the June Kit, some pale blue tissue paper from my stash, and some of that gorgeous blue striped paper. Into these layers, I tucked in a few embellishments - die cuts, June Labels and even that fussy cut 'summer fun' circle.
I wanted to use the Summer Fun circle as a feature embellishment as it combined the sun design with the blue colors and also aided to anchor my photo cluster onto that circular sun.
Such a fun way to use the June Kit journal cards!

I cleverly positioned this photo cluster over the center of the sun for two key reasons.
1. So that your eye would be drawn directly into my photo
and 2. To cover the paper joins & enhance the illusion of 12 inch papers.

Drawing on the natural sand color in my photograph, and a need to balance out all that bright pop color, I mixed the Summer and Vacation Wood Veneers and added them to my design.
The Summer Snapshots veneer fitted beautifully across my photo and formed the perfect title!

To further enhance the sun design, I used a mix of circular embellishments throughout my page, and even scattered some puffy sticker dots (from the Tiny Shapes & Dots Puffy Stickers released in May) too. Those little pops of teal created a point of difference between the dominant blue & yellow, and added that extra interest.

For finishing touches, I added a spot of journaling with the Summer Stickers
Such a simple, yet super striking page to document my family's Summer story!
I hope I have inspired you to start documenting your Summer stories with the fabulous
Elle's Studio June Kit & new releases!
Thanks so much for visiting,
