Shimmerz Paints Education Team - Monochromatic Magic!

Hi Friends! 

I am so super excited to be sharing my first official 

Education Team project with Shimmerz Paints! 

I just love creating with all the gorgeous Shimmerz colorz and products!

Today I wanted to share a lil monochromatic magic with you!
Here's my layout,

"Inspirational"

Sigh! Isn't this dreamy & divine?!!

I was so inspired by that ombre pink pattern paper that I backed my cut file rose with, that I just had to recreate a similar look on my layout! The scrapbook collection that I am using today is the Pink Paislee: Paige Evans: Pick Me Up line, & the cut file called Flower Half is also designed by Paige Evans.

I start with our gorgeous Vibez in
Razzeldazzel Berry
Sweet Heart
& Pop Art Pink
and apply them using the packaging technique.

I then highlight the rose shape by applying coordinating Shimmerz over each color section.
I use a soft brush, and paint the rose petal design using
Going Peach Side over the Pop Art Pink
 Pink-O-De-Mayo over Sweet Heart
& Magenta over the Razzeldazzel Berry.

Very pretty!
I also add droplets and flicks of the Shimmerz around the rose edge, as well as outline the area in which my photo is positioned.

I make a last minute decision to hand color that white cardstock cut file with those pretty Shimmerz colors. From the center of the rose, I apply Going Peach Side, followed by Pink-O-De-Mayo & last but not least, that gorgeous Magenta!

Using similar colors with varying tones and creating a monochromatic effect is SO pretty!!!

Paper Issues: May: What's Up?

Hi Creative Friends!

Today I am sharing my super sweet take on the all new Paper Issues challenge, What's Up?

This challenge is all about utilizing the top section of your layouts! 

Simply feature everything in the top 1/3 of your page; too easy!!!

The possibilities are endless! 

And without further ado, here's what my layout....

So sweet!!! 

Love these two cherubs! My favorite Pick Me Up, indeed! 

And yes, that's the name of the collection I'm highlighting today;

Like all Paige's designs, this range is full of bright colors and patterns that make you feel happy! 

So playful & fun! 

I love white space, it tends to feature a lot in my layouts. 

Needless to say, I chose a white cardstock base for my page, 

but a simple pattern paper would look really awesome with this challenge too! 

Pink, burgundy and gold form the rest of my color scheme, and I have to say, I just love how soft and pretty this combination is! I hope you like it too!

Paper Issues: May: MOM Turned Upside Down Spells WOW

Hi Creatives! 

A new month signals lots of new challenges at Paper Issues!

Today I am sharing this fun Mother's Day inspired challenge...

Well of course your MOM is WOW!!! That makes perfect sense to me! Lol!

I just love being a Mom! 

I know everyone says that, but truly, I wish I could have more children! 

Absolutely the BEST part of my world! 

So here's a pic of me with my boy, just happy being together...

"LOVE"

Oh what a darling! And yes, 

Life is always better TOGETHER

He was only little here, just a few months away from turning 3 and such a cutie! 

We always have the best times together, and that is what Mother's Day is all about for me!

Reflecting on how wonderful this life is! 

But enough of the soppy stuff - we're here for the love of paper! 

And oh my heart, Paige Taylor Evans has done it again! 

Her new Pick Me Up line is oh so pretty, and I just couldn't resist teaming it up with our gorgeous Fab-YOU-lous Florals cut file!

I love the look of white on white, so soft and delicate! 

Here's a closer look for you....

My heart is SO full! Love this!

You'll notice that I cut my pattern paper into a circle and use it as base for my cut files, doilies & photo cluster. This creates the appearance of an inverted wreath - and helps to balance all that white!  

I embellish with 6 x 12 Accent Stickers, Puffy Stickers & Chipboard. 

The Ephemera Die Cut butterflies are just the sweetest and add a hint on color to this soft and subtle page!

My heart is full, indeed!

I have used the Paper Issues Floal Heart Free Cut File with Pink Paislee's: Paige Taylor Evans Pick Me Up collection. Such a perfect combination! 

I have drawn on the colours from this line, and created a super sweet background using

Shimmerz Paints:

Vibez Razzeldazzel Berry

Vibez Sweet Heart

Spritz Walkin' A Tight Heliotrope

Here's a closer look at my layout,

That background is errrrrrything!!!

To recreate, simply use the packaging technique with your fave Shimmerz Paints colors! Add a few inky splatters and you're ready to go! 

Simple, but so effective! 

Beautiful, vivid colors because at Shimmerz Paints it's all about the color!

This is my daughter and I, all dressed up as Pink Ladies for a costume party, LOL! 

We had such a fun time - being silly with the camera too!
