Wanna see my first creations with this fabulous kit?

Here's what I've created so far....

"5 Is The New Cool"

Oh.my.heart!!!

This kid melts me everytime! So Mr.Cool for sure!

I have used a simple grid design, and layered each quadrant with lots of the February Kit 3 x 4 cards.

Each one is embellished with a mix of either Die Cuts, Puffy Stickers, Veneers, & Cork Speech Bubbles and then stamped with the Icon Stamp set. SO awesome! 

Here's a closer look for you..... 

You'll spy that I add tissue paper & cotton thread from my stash, as well as sewing machine stitch the  quadrant for just a touch of texture on my cool boy page! Adding a lil 'edge' so to speak!

The base paper is that incredible woodgrain pattern paper from the Live Laugh Love collection - you can get it in the store HERE

Not a fan of your own handwriting? Me either... lol! 

So I just LOVE the Elle's Studio: Letter & Number Stickers 

(they come in quite a few colours too!) 

Here's one last close up for you....

Those layers are awesome, huh?! Loving this kit to pieces already!!!

And it suits more than just the boys.....

Here's my second layout, 

"Kind"

Gasp! So girly and pretty!!!

This time I have used the warmer tones, and made a feature of the Kind Acrylic & those Puffy Heart Stickers! 

The Elle's Studio Acrylics are always a firm favourite of mine & that title is no exception - SO good!

And those Cork Speech Bubbles are really something too!

I have used the Live Laugh Love 6 x 6 Paper Stack with this layout as it coordinates beautifully with the February Kit!

You stole my heart, indeed! 

I think I may need a lifetime supply of those hearts (Shapes & Dots Puffy Stickers)

So much awesomeness this month!

As you can see, February is just the BEST!!!

Pebbles Patio Party: Concertina Tag Cards!

Hi Creative Friends!

I am so excited to be sharing my first tutorial with the all NEW Pebbles, Jen Hadfield: Patio Party collection! With so many beautiful patterns and designs, this collection will wow you!

So super beautiful! 

 But enough chatter, let's get onto my project - Concertina Tag Cards!

When I first laid eyes on pattern paper JUST FOR YOU I knew I wanted to make a trio of cards from it! I love receiving cards that are a little interactive, and concertina folded tags are so much fun!

Here's how....

1. Trim out the 'triangles' connecting the tags, and then cut into 3 'rows' or sections, as shown below.

2. Use a ruler and scoring tool to mark all the 'folds' & then firmly press into concertina (fan fold).

3. Prepare 3 card bases for your trio. (I used white cardstock, trimmed 6" long x 8" wide, which I score down the center and fold to create a 6" x 4" card.) Trim pattern paper WANDERING WILDFLOWERS to 5 3/4"long  x 3 3/4" wide and adhere to front of card.

4. Attach a 12" length of ribbon to the card front - be sure to only glue in the center and not the sides, as we'll need this ribbon to tie up our tags. Next, tape the back of the final tag in the concertina over the ribbon and onto the card front, as below....

*I attach a pretty layered BUTTERFLY STICKER over the butterfly print tag and add a WOOD STICKER to the front of my card for a little embellishing*

5. Use the ribbon to 'tie up' the cascading concertina, and pin into place with those stunning GOLD SAFETY PINS. Add a PUFFY STICKER or two for that finishing touch!

SO pretty! 

And the recipient has such a fun surprise when they untie that bow! 

Decorate those pretty tags with messages to your loved ones or leave as is, they're sure to please either way!

The second card in this trio uses the same techniques, but this time I use the reverse side of WANDERING WILDFLOWERS for the card front. I also use the patterned barcode strip from the base of this paper as an alternative to ribbon. Cute!  

Hole punch the tags, and fasten together with another of those awesome GOLD SAFETY PINS, taping the final tag onto the card front, as before. 

Decorate with those super sweet PUFFY STICKERS.

Here's how these two cards look before opening.....

Yes - I wrapped up that card like a present as really adds that specialty to the gesture of card giving!

And here's how they look after opening.......

Love this! SO cute 'n' fun!

The last card in the trio is slightly different! Prepare the card front as per card 1, then embellish with a doily. Take the final set of concertina tags and slice off the end tag. Hole punch, attach a ribbon and then place onto the card front with adhesive foam dots.

Take the remaining concertina tags and tape the two end tags inside the card - creating a simple pop up effect!

I decorate mine with those beautiful BUTTERFLY STICKERS, and fill the card with sequins. Such a happy surprise when you open this card!

And there you have it! A trio of concertina tag cards that are sure to bring a smile to everyone you share them with!

Shimmerz Paints: Hello Sunshine!

Hello February, & Hello Sunshine!!!!

I am so excited to be sharing another gorgeous Shimmerz Paints project with you today!

I took inspiration from the Dear Lizzy Hello Sunshine ephemera, and that fabulous (wave like) Elle's Studio washi tape! So cool!

Here's a better look for you.....



I started by lightly sketching my sun and wave design, and then literally painted them in using those gorgeous Inklingz Paints.
I used Inklingz: Can't Elope, &  Meet Me @ Sunset for the sun, and Green Goddess for those mimicked waves. You'll also spot some delicate splatters using Inklingz: Beets Me & She Packs A Punch. 
SO awesome! I just adore this color combination!
I have mixed Dear Lizzy's Stargazer collection with Elle's Studio: Live Laugh Love line for this happy, Summer beach days page!
My chipboard title has been treated with Vibez: Jeni Be Bleu & Cold As Ice - love the two tone look!
Fab-u-lous!!!
I can't tell you enough how incredible these paints are to work with!!!!

Vibez: Jeni Be Bleu is such a signature Shimmerz Paints colour! Isn't it gorgeous?!!

Gosh, it's just so pretty!!!

I ADORE Inklingz - the shimmer and high sheen on these paints is mind blowing! 

I think Green Goddess may be going on my newest favourites list!!!

Paper Issues: February Ad-spiration!

Hi Creatives! 

Welcome back for more Paper Issues awesomeness!
 I am super excited to be sharing a better look at the new February challenge, 

This fun challenge is all about taking inspiration from an advertisment selected by our team.

Here's what this month's 'Ad' looks like....

WOW!

Talk about fun! This is SO awesome! 

Take inspiration any way you wish ! From the bright rainbow colours, to the spiral pattern, to the exclamation design, or even the text, - basically anything goes!

Oh, & there's even a new FREE cut file in the store to compliment this challenge too!

Isn't it fabulous?!! 

While it's no secret that I LOVE our free files, I had a different idea for my layout today though.....

Here's my take on this bold & bright Ad, 

"Love Beyond Words"

Isn't this FUN!

I have used a bunch of Elle's Studio: Live Laugh Love Lil Snippets Labels as an alternative to the exclamation marks, and arranged them in the same spiral pattern! To strengthen the connection between the Ad and my layout, I have also used bright, rainbow colours and then stamped exclamation marks around my mixed media background. 

Such a cool design to use your labels and tags with!

You'll also spy Enamel Dots, Puffy Stickers and even a stamp from the Elle's Studio collection.

We have so much fun, indeed!

Another element that I drew inspiration from was the wording in the Ad's text.... 

As you'll see from my photo, my boy Lives Out Loud! and I love him beyond words -  it ties in perfectly with the Ad. 

Here's a very quick look at that background......

I have used Shimmerz Paints Vibez and Spritz, and applied them using the packaging technique. So effective!

It's all about the details! 

Speaking of details, here's a better look at those Elle's Studio labels.....

"Hello Summer"

Isn't this stunning?!! 

I have taken inspiration from the Summer theme, heart, hibiscus flower and of course, the gorgeous colour palette! 

I have stash busted Echo Park Summer FUN and Summer Dreams collections, and combined them with a Paper Issues Free Cut File. 

The cut file is called Interlocking Hears and you can download it HERE

I trimmed mine, and backed it with coordinating papers from the Summer Dream 6 x 6 Paper Pad. 

So pretty!!!

Love this girl! So very proud of her! 

And such a happy memory to document!

My mixed media base has been created with Shimmerz Paints, 

I have used their Inklingz & Creameez watercolours to create more hearts and splatters of colour too! 

Colours featured are Inklingz: Beets Me, Me & Blue, & Sun Kissed and Creameez: Lettuce Get Together

Elle's Studio: February Product Highlight: XOXO Stamp

Hi Lovelies!

It's a new month and I have so many gorgeous new Elle's Studio projects to share with you all!

Today's Product Highlight post is all about our gorgeous XOXO Stamp, 

and I've teamed it up with our stunning January Kit and New Releases.
Before we get started, here's a quick look at our January Kit......

Awesome!

So today, I'm getting inky! 

Well, at least my fingers are! Lol!

It's all kinds of awesome and would suit a variety of projects and creations!

I've created a traditional 12 x 12 layout with it today, and oh me oh my, this was SO much fun!!!

"Love You"

I told you that stamp was all kinds of awesome! ;) 

For my layout background, I start with a quick mist of Shimmerz Paints: Vibez in Sweet Heart & Princess.

 As soon as it dries, I repeat stamp the tiny hearts & xo's cluster stamp in a coordinating purple ink pad color. I do this throughout the inky base area - trying to keep it uneven and less structured. 

This builds interest and color to the base, and draws your eye into my super sweet photograph. 

For my larger, hand drawn heart stamps & title love you, I stamp onto a scrap piece of white cardstock using a variety of pinks, reds, and purple ink cubes. 

I love stamping this way as I can fussy cut the stamped images that I am happy with, and arrange on my layout without any mess, or stress!

That title is really stunning.....

And by keeping the white cardstock rim, it still stands out despite the similarly colored background. Such a simple but effective technique to try with our clear stamps. 

Here's another view for you -  I just adore that sweet arrow!!!

I think you'll agree with me that the XOXO Stamp is just divine!!!

I complete my layout with our gorgeous January Kit items, XOXO 6 x 6 Paper Stack, Love You Die Cuts and Hugs & Kisses Puffy Stickers. Perfection!
