Pebbles: Patio Party & Planner Inspiration!

Hi Creative Friends!

It's planning theme week over on the Pebbles Inc blog!
And for this theme post, I wanted to share a makeover of my less glamorous, everyday planner!
Not the over sized, over decorated planner that sits on my desk for flat lay photo shoots -  but the honest, everyday, no frills, pocket size one that I carry around in my purse!
My 'real life mom' planner!
You know the one, it has scribblings of new phone numbers, a reminder to pick up the dry cleaning, a few coupons and a list of bills to pay!

Yes... the boring, unexciting planner.
BUT, that's all about to change with a quick planner make over!
I am using the gorgeous, bright & happy Patio Party collection for this cute planner inspiration today...

This line is so pretty, and the colors in Patio Party will brighten any dull organizer! And while I want to create a much happier, prettier planner I also want to keep it practical and easy to use -
Here's how....
My planner make over starts with creating my own custom dividers.

To make these 'fit' perfectly, use the original dividers that your organizer came with as a template. Trace the template onto your favourite Patio Party pattern paper and cut out. I also trace the holes so I know exactly where to hole punch my new dividers. As the first divider is the one I'll always see when I open my planner, I use the striking gold foil specialty paper from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

*Note: The 6 x 6 papers are single sided, so you'll need to repeat this process - reverse side up for the template, and adhere both sides together to create the one divider*

The striped, shiny gold pattern is just gorgeous but as this is the front cover divider, it still needs more....

I embellish with a few stickers from the 6 x 12 Accent Stickers sheet. Cute!
That sentiment sticker has just the right amount of inspiration too! Now that I'm happy with my first divider, I proceed to make one for every tabbed section in my organizer.
This time, I use the double sided 12" x 12" pattern papers so I only need to trace each template once.
Here's a look at them all, right side up.....

Aren't they the sweetest?! I'm already feeling uplifted!
Here's the reverse side....

Pretty florals, and oh my heart, flamingos!!!
What a difference a set of dividers can make to your organizer!
And when it comes to being organized, having a bookmark to instantly locate your fave section of your planner is essential!

How sweet is this book mark?!
Like the dividers, I use the original as a template to trace around, cut out and hole punch.
So simple, and yet such a practical and pretty adornment to  your organizer.
Speaking of practical, how about something cute 'n' fun to store all those ugly coupons in?

Oh hello flamingos & hello happy! This planner pocket makes me smile!
There are a number of ways to create pockets, but the simplest one is to trace your divider template, but double the width. In my example my planner is 3 1/2" x 5", so I cut out a 3 1/2 " x 10" piece of paper. Score down the center, fold and tape the base and sides together.  Be sure to leave the top unsealed so you can insert your bits 'n' pieces into the pocket.
Looking for something more sturdy?
Instead of tape, machine stitch the sides and base.
The next step in 'dressing up' my everyday planner was to convert the plain plastic pocket inserts into something a bit more special....

Eeep! Sequin shaker pockets are my favourite!!! So cool!
This pocket now doubles as a super pretty divider!
To create this fun (& practical) pocket, you'll need to insert a piece of pattern paper into the pocket. It needs to be a snug fit to help hold the sequins in place. Add sequins, and then fuse or glue the top of the pocket to the pattern paper. Embellish with another of those gorgeous 6 x 12 Accessory Stickers. You'll see in the image below that the back of the pocket still opens, and remains suitable for storing small items, receipts, tickets etc. ...

Love this! So perfect & so much fun!!!
Time to dress up that dashboard and boring cover!
I start by selecting a few of my favourite Die Cuts, and hot glue a large paperclip to the back of each of them.
Here's a closer look for you....

Oh what a stunning page marker! Planner clips never looked so sweet!
Insert them into your cover, add a few more stickers and voila!

Now that's more like it!
Still lightweight, & practical for my purse, but oh so pretty too!!!
Here's a look at that shaker pocket in action....

Gorgeous!!!
When it comes to jazzing up your organizer, or updating it with a fresh Spring look, Patio Party is the perfect choice!

Pebbles: Getting Organised Using A Traveler's Notebook

Hi Friends!

I hope the New 2018 Year is bringing you much joy!
If you're like me, and feeling a lil behind, overwhelmed or just needing to be more organized for the busy year ahead, then today's post is for you!

I don't know about you, but I certainly feel more organized and less stressed when I jot things down and make lists. Keeping a Traveler's Notebook handy in my purse means I can stay focused, and remember all those appointments too! #igotthis

As soon as I laid eyes on the gorgeous Pebbles: Forever My Always collection I just knew I had to use it for my TN journaling!
Let's make the everyday ordinary things special too!
Let's make ALL the pretty things!
After all, it's a beautiful life!
Here's what I have created to help me conquer 2018!

How CUTE is this Pebbles Traveler's Notebook?!!
If nothing else, my 2018 is going to be pretty!!!
Here's a sneaky peak inside too.....

Adore this! Being organized never looked so good! And the best part, it only takes a few minutes to create - perfect for this modern, busy world we live in!

Here's how to make your own TN:

  1. Start with your insert paper. I use a good quality A4 copy paper for my everyday lists. Trim to 8 3/4"wide x 8 1/4 long.
  1. Select pattern paper for cover,  (I use the sweet Love Labels for mine) and place the insert paper over it - as shown below. Ensure the cover is just the tiniest bit bigger to allow for full coverage of the inserts, and trim.

3. Score both the inserts and patterned paper cover, and fold in half. Sew, staple or hand stitch the spine to complete.

I sew mine with my machine on a larger stitch, slow speed.
Here's a closer look at how neat the stitching is.....

Super sweet! Use this technique to create as many Notebooks as you need!
Now to decorate!
A good page marker is always helpful - create a stunning rosette clip with the Forever My Always Rosette Stickers and a paperclip. Too easy!

For my TN spread, I use the reverse side of the pattern paper barcode strip, Date Night.
Tip: These sample strips at the bottom of 12 x 12 papers make an excellent alternative to washi tape!

A page marker and some faux washi make such a difference! So simple and yet so effective!
Next, I decorate with a couple of the Cardstock 6 x 12 Icons & Accents Stickers.
That pencil is just perfection for this planner / notebook!
I trim pattern paper, Sprinkled Blossoms to 2" wide x 2 1/2"long to create some full boxes.
A great alternative to planner icon box stickers, and it really defines my TN layout.

I continue to define my TN spread with a few hand drawn boxes, as well as my check list to the left hand side. The typewriter sticker couldn't be any more adorable, and embellishes my long list. I add Puffy Stickers to my half boxes, serving as bullet points.
Looking good!

For finishing touches, I embellish with more cute stickers, and Die Cuts!

And there you  have it! Super quick (and really pretty!)crafting to keep you organized!
I hope I have inspired you to make your own Travelers Notebook with the beautiful Pebbles Forever My Always papers and embellishments!

Paper Issues: February Swag Bag

Hi Happy Arty Days Fans!

It's time for one of my favourite shares on the Paper Issues calendar,

It's no secret how much I LOVE the Paper Issues Swag Bags!
I often refer to them as lil gems or bags of gold, cause they're that awesome!
A sampler bag if you will, of what's hip, cool, sassy and fun in the Paper Issues store!
I have fallen head over heels for the January bag...
I actually ordered two of them - one for scrapboooking and one for planning!

Here's a peak at my planner with the January Swag Bag....

So much prettiness!!!
You can see a video and more pics of my planner spread over on my

And here's my layout! It's created entirely from the January Swag Bag
(except for  the 12 x 12 cardstock & watercolor paints - they're from my stash) .....

"ADORED"

More prettiness! Told you the Swag Bags are lil gems!
How totally divine is this?!! I love you indeed my darling daughter!
A whole ton of my kinda embellishments here - glitter stickers, clear stickers, wooden buttons & sequins! Love them all!
In keeping with the hearts theme, I cut out those polka dot hearts from the 3 x 4 cards that you get in the Swag Bags. The black and white really breaks up all that pink and makes everything pop!

All those hearts!
And speaking of hearts, how about that stunning fringed heart below....

Gorgeous! The heart actually had a Happy V Day sentiment on it, so I simply used a sticker to cover it. Works perfectly now! All the heart eyes!

Love the  3 x 4 & 6 x 4 cards in the swag bags - they're always so complimentary and coordinating to all the embellishments.
And seriously, ALL those embellishments!!! SO much in such a cute lil bag!

Love me a Swag Bag or two!!!
I hope my layout has convinced you to get yours on subscription so you don't miss out next month!
(At only $9.99 USD, they sell out super fast!)

Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Traveler's Notebook with Love Always

Hi Creative Friends!
Today I am sharing some gorgeous, Cocoa Vanilla Studio, planner related inspiration!
I'm giving you a peak into my Traveler's Notebook, using Cocoa Vanilla Studio inserts & the Love Always collection.
I'm currently using a Webster's Color Crush: Walnut TN - but when it comes to inserts I prefer to customise mine.
Here's my inside cover....
img_20160917_144211
I know, so pretty huh?!
You'll spy some Love Always Die Cut Ephemera and Bits N Pieces that I've hot glued onto paperclips to create my own planner clips with. But it's those two stunning TN inserts that totally make me swoon!
The first one is made from pattern paper BOUQUET and has been custom made from my gorgeous pal, LinsertsbyLinda!  The second is crafted from pattern paper NOTE TO SELF , and it's a simple homemade one ;)
The difference? Well, mine are blank pages simply stapled together with a pretty pattern cover, but if you get them custom made you can vary the paper options to suit your personal needs. You'll see what I mean....
Here's a look inside the BOUQUET insert....
img_20160917_143552
Stunnning!!! Love this!
Practical & pretty, what more could a girl want?! ;)
You'll notice that I have ordered grid columns - similar to an EC planner - with 2 days to a page. This allows me the opportunity to really see my week ahead and plan it properly! The days of the week are printed on the top of each column, really making this my daily go-to planner! As it's a traveler's notebook, I tend to use less of the dimensional planner decorations and more stickers and labels. (I keep this TN in my handbag & use it for my personal day-to-day events so I need to keep it practical & lightweight!)
Let's take a closer look at the first half of my week.....
img_20160917_144338
I love to add a focal point or reminder to each double page spread; this week it was to remind me to plan ahead and that I got this! I used the fabulous Love Always Alphabet Stickers to achieve this. To make them really pop, I added a black gel pen shadow to them.
I also used the Love Always Accessory Stickers to accentuate most of my columns; decorative boxes, labels, typewriter words, inspirational words & even a tag!
img_20160917_144635
There's a few small Ephemera pieces, just look at that super sweet butterfly!!!
And the 2 Love Always Flair Buttons are just divine! I use these buttons as my page markers as they're just too cute not too!
You'll also spy the Love Always Puffy Stickers being used as my alternative to check boxes - so fun!
And yes, this is my genuine 'real' week - so my handwriting isn't special (or blog worthy) but I wanted to show a real use of my planners! Here's a look at how I scribble all over those pretty Accessory Stickers....
img_20160917_144733
You can really see how handy my customised Linsert is! So with my week totally sorted, what is my second blank page insert for?
Well, I'm using it for a new project - five minutes of scrapbooking a day!
Yep, only 5 minutes! It's so hard to pair everything back, and yet it's really working for me!
For this particular insert, I am recollecting my daughter's first few years.....
img_20160917_144510
It's very simple, and lightweight - perfect for keeping in my daily TN! I keep a few bits of Ephemera in the front cover pockets, and a mini glue stick in my purse. When I have a minute or two spare I add a little memory / story / journal or photo - so sweet!
- I hope my daughter will love this mini reflection album -
Regardless of what you use your inserts for, there's so many planner and creative options with Cocoa Vanilla Studio!
I hope you've liked having a peak inside my Traveler's Notebook today!
You can order a Cocoa Vanilla Studio custom insert from the lovely Linda here

Cocoa Vanilla Studio & All The Planner Things!!!

Hi Creative Friends & Happy Planners!
Welcome back!
So excited to be with you today to share a little planner love with the new
For those of you that don't follow me, I am a little planner obsessed.......
Just a little planner and stationary addiction - okay, I may have more planners than fingers and toes & that's all I'm admitting to! ;)
All the Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections are so darn pretty that they're perfect for planner decorating, expressing yourself in style and,  for creating your own planner accessories too!
For all the Erin Condren & Happy Planner people out there - this first one is for you!
This week inside my Happy Planner......
CVS Happy Planner1Yep. That be a whole lot of Love Always planner love right there!
Isn't this looking too pretty!!! I wanted to share the before the pen shots, as some weeks can get a lil crazy for me! (& I am sure you don't really want to know what my weekly schedule looks like either)
Let's quickly start by mentioning that sweet planner charm! I made it in less than 2 minutes from the butterfly charm and tassel that come in the Bits n Pieces pkt. I simply attached them with a ring, a small length of chain and a tiny lobster clasp. Too easy & doesn't it look divine?!!
The larger size of the Happy Planner is perfect for all those extra appointments and daily details, but the boxes are just a tad to boring for me....
Needless to say, I used the gorgeous pattern papers from Love Always to form decorative boxes. & add a lil colour to my day! As this is a functional appointment keeper for me, I was careful to select softer paper designs that I can write on & still be able to read my appointments. You 'll also notice a few sticker boxes, perfect for highlighting events/details in my schedule. I should add, that apart from the planner & that super cute pen, everything else you see is Cocoa Vanilla Studio! I know, right? Planner bliss with Love Always!
Let's take a closer look.....
CVS Happy Planner2I do love creative expression - it's part of who I am - so decorating my planner pages is the quick 10 minutes out of my Sunday night where I can play, and plan my week ahead. I love playing with paper, and sometimes, I just need to get stuff done;
Happy Planning is my solution!
CVS Happy Planner6
So preeeeeeetty!
CVS Happy Planner5
I've used some of the new glitter enamel dots as an alternative to check boxes  - aren't they sweet?! I also cut apart a striped 3 x 4 journal card to use as a Lister's Gotta List note section. Page flags are a must for reminders & that Puffy Sticker one would have to be my all time favourite! Love it!
The die cut ephemera packs are perfect for creating cute planner clips and page markers, as are the flair buttons, and the pretty odds and ends in the Bits n Pieces packets too!
CVS Happy Planner3
Bitty bows and buttons are perfect adornments to any planner aficionado's page spreads!
Oh, & how cute is that tiny peg from the Bits n Pieces too? Ideal for book marking my next monthly view!
But maybe you're not into the larger vertical page spreads? No worries, my next planner is my everyday, personal go-to;
This week inside my Kikki K medium.....
CVS Happy Planner10This is my planner baby! I love my Kikki K  - it's smaller and easier to cart about, and well, it just gives me planner peace! & you can probably see why! She is soooooo pretty!
The inserts are a lot boring - so I do like to 'dress' them up a bit! I've used a foil washi tape to compliment the Love Always collection as well as a few other accessories and gold hardware from my stash, just to give it a little bling! The pattern paper Bouquet is my absolute favourite, so I created decorative boxes with it. Sure, I won't be able to write over these, but if I do need more space, I'll add a sticker box or memo note on top ;)
CVS Happy Planner9Loving the typewriter font Accessory Stickers - great mini titles for organising your day with. The ephemera heart envelope is just a planner dream - I mean who doesn't heart #happymail?!! A gorgeous embellishment that I've turned into a planner clip. You'll also  spy the Love Always Wood Veneers on this planner spread too! I adore those sweet printed hearts! The larger one has been backed with a paperclip so I can use to mark my pages easily!
CVS Happy Planner8Oh, & how's that sweet tab Puffy Sticker - ADORBS!!!! Planner geeks be like, I NEED these!!! Just divine!
And that's a peak into all my Planner Things this week....
But don't worry, I am back next month with a few ideas on creating your own planner pockets, dashboards, clips and traveller's notebooks too! Here's a sneak peak for next month's plannerific post....CVS Happy Planner7
Oh how I totally adore those sweet planner charms!
Be sure to make a few of your own from the Bits n Pieces pkt ;)
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my planner inspiration,
til next time,
Happy Arty Days,
