Elle's Studio: January Product Spotlight

Today I am shining the spotlight on the Wood Veneer Love Tags. 

My brief for this product spotlight was to create just one card that really highlights those awesome tags. 

The January Kit lends itself beautifully to Valentine's creating, 

so here's the card my Valentine will be receiving - I hope he likes it ;) 

Oh, isn't this sweet?! 

I just love the natural look of wood veneer, and the warmth it adds to any project.  

My card is a simple 4" x 8" design, and features pattern paper from the XOXO 6 x 6 Paper Stack, Love You Die Cuts, Enamel Dots, & Hand Drawn Acrylic Hearts. 

But it's those wooden tags that really impress!

I've arranged the tags in a grid layout, and embellished them with those sweet tiny bows. 

Apart from adding dimension & interest, the bows also 'cover up' the tops of the wood tags. This means you can mix & match the shapes (& sentiments) and still have a 'clean look'. 

The bows are made from my leftover scrap pieces in the XOXO 6 x 6 Paper Stack.

The pretty heart paper beneath the tags is stitched into place, and so is the xoxoxoxo sentiment. 

The Love You Die Cut hearts, and acrylic heart anchor the overall design. 

Enamel Dots add the finishing touch!

projects with you today!

This release is just PERFECT for all your loved up Valentine's Day creating! The papers,  die cuts, stamps and even the acrylic shapes are all crafted with our loved up holiday in mind.
That said, I just love how versatile this Kit is!
For today's inspiration I have purposely avoided creating Valentine's Day projects so you can see exactly what I am meaning.

My first project that I have created with this release is a 12 x 12 layout,

"Kind Heart"

Isn't this the sweetest! 

Love these two! (& they just dote on each other too!)

It's loved up, but not in the romantic sense at all! 

 I really wanted to highlight the January Kit, as well as the  XOXO 6x6 Paper Stack, and that fabulous XOXO Stamp. 

I have mounted my cardstock on a pattern paper from the 12 x 12  Family Fun collection.  

I created that fabulous bunting / banner with the ombre pink paper in the XOXO 6x6 Paper Stack and a circle punch. I cut the circles all in half and mount them on foam tape for extra dimension. 

Centering the bunting and bringing it all together is a collection of tags from the January Kit.

The bunting is embellished with Enamel Dots, a fussy cut heart from Kit, as well as paper strips cut from the typewriter font pattern paper in the XOXO stack. 

You'll spy a soft & pretty mixed media background created with Shimmerz Paints, and that fabulous XOXO Stamp.

You'll also spy our awesome January Labels on this layout too! 

Those stamps are the BEST!!!

My second layout today is an 8.5" x 11" design documenting my darling daughter....

"You Are Loved"

Just Beautiful!

Like my previous page, I have layered my cardstock onto pattern paper from the 12 x 12 Family FUN collection.  Apart from this, everything on this layout is from our new January Kit & Extras! 

The You Are Loved Wood Veneer is just too spectacular!

It really makes for a stand out title and in my case, brings a touch of natural and warmth to my crisp and clean design. Here's a better look at it....

Stunning! 

I am also loving those luscious layers beneath my sweet photo. They're mostly created from the 3x4 journal cards in the Kit. The 'paper' clip heart holding it all together is from the January Digital Cut Files, and adds a subtle but sweet touch!

I've mounted it all onto the Love You typewriter font 6x6 Paper and used Enamel Dots and the 

Hugs and Kisses Puffy Stickers for finishing touches.

The overall design is anchored with the January Labels subtitle, PS You're the Best and that awesome Hand Drawn Acrylic Heart. SO good!

January is all about the stashbusting for me, so I've dived into my left over Pebbles: Girl Squad collection, as well as a few bits n bobs from the September Swag Bag to create this layout.

I love all the gold foil stickers and cute ephemera from the Girl Squad line!

Paper Issues: January Try It Tuesday!

Hi Paper Loving Friends!

Welcome back for the January edition of 

Yay! Love this challenge!

To get celebrating the New Year in style, we're going to try using party decor in our projects this month!

Suggested items that you could use include:

- straws

- banners

- streamers

- sequins

-glitter

-stickers

-balloons

- ribbons & bows

- napkins

-party favours

Use one, or use a few, on your creative projects!

This challenge is suitable for ALL project types - cards, layouts, planners, TNs, pocket pages, OTPs etc. & you can enter as many new creations as you like!

I can't wait to see what you'll come up with!

Here's my sample layout for you....

"Birthday Wishes"

Eeeep! Isn't this the cutest!!!

I have used the super bright and fun, Pebbles Happy Hooray collection - LOVE it!

When it comes to buying #allthethings I may have issues! 

Why on earth did I buy that Cake Topper Set when I don't get time to bake?!! LOL!

Well never fear, I used it, as well as some party straws, to create my layout today! 

And I have to say, I am pretty pleased with how this page came together.

Here's a closer view for you.....

Oh this just screams PARTY time!!! SO cute! 

I've created an adorable lil party scene around my birthday boys photo!

I use pattern paper Party Animal and my Fringe Scissors to create the appearance of grass, and then I  proceed to build the 'scene' up. 

The Die Cut party animals in the grass are the cutest! 

I insert my Cake Toppers Happy Hooray skewers into my paper straws, so they no longer look like cake decorations, and I apply the banner too! 

Who would've thought the Cake Toppers would be perfect for a layout?!!

I fussy cut some sprinkle clouds from pattern paper, Sprinkles On Top, and add Puffy Icon Sticker balloons to the 'sky'. SO cool!

A few more Ephemera Die Cuts & embellishments complete my Happy Birthday page!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Bohemian Dream HAPPY!

Hi Paper Loving Friends!

Happy New Year! I hope that 2018 brings you and your loved ones much happiness and joy!

And speaking of happy, have I got something delightful on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog to share with you today....

"Happy"

Oh isn't this super pretty!!!

Bohemian Dream is just SO dreamy and divine, that I  just can't get enough of it!

Today I have teamed this gorgeous collection up with the fabulous Colour Me Happy: Geo Heart Cut File. They partner beautifully & I absolutely adore how bright and fun this page is!

I have mounted my 11" x 11" white cardstock onto that colourful, patchwork style patterned paper, CV-BD004 BEAUTIFUL MESS and machine stitched it into position. It's really playful and lends itself to the 'happy' vibe of the layout.  That awesome Geo Heart has been backed with the CV-BD005 DREAMER pattern paper from the6 x 6 PAPER PAD, and then embellished with DIE CUT EPHEMERA blooms.

I have snipped one of the cute DIE CUT EPHEMERA frames into half, and layered it beneath my darling photograph. I attach them both to the Geo Heart and continue to embellish the photo cluster and cut file.  You'll spy ACCESSORY STICKERS, DIE CUT EPHEMERA and FLAIR with my photo, as well CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKERS on both of them.

I complete my layout with more ephemera pieces and that stunning butterfly chippie! Final finishing touches are the sequins and my hand coloured twine. Perfection!

Let's take a better look.....

How stunning is the ombre CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKER title, 'HAPPY'?! It reminds me of a beautiful sunset and the yellow contrasts beautifully with the purple tones of the DREAMER paper. Here's another view of it...

It's really pretty!!! As are the surrounding blooms and butterflies!

To create gentle dimension on this 'clean' look, I use mounted tape on one of the blooms, fold and elevate the wings of the die cut ephemera, and use a CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKER butterfly for interest. I also add my own hand coloured twine creating flow and texture too!

 I am just LOVING those CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKERS - those blooms are just the prettiest!

How divine!!! The sentiment (& ombre font) of the FLAIR BUTTON is the perfect adornment to my beautiful photograph! LOVE it!

A really simple design and yet oh so pretty!

Those ACCESSORY STICKERS are such a fabulous touch too!

Just beautiful!

I think you can see why I am still totally swooning over Bohemian Dream!

& I hope I have  inspired you to continue creating with it too!

Aren't those stamped snowflakes the pretttiest?!!

I decided to mirror reflect the sketch for my take on it.....

Totally awesome!

Love this cool kid and his free,wild spirit! 

I snapped this shot on Christmas Eve and couldn't wait to scrap it - he really is the happiest lil guy to hang out with! We have such a blast at the beach together!

I have used Pink Paislee's Wild Child collection for my layout, as well as some Shimmerz Paints for that watercolour wash background. 

I switched the doilies in the sketch for a large tag and super cute ephemera card.
