Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Wanderlust

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for more Cocoa Vanilla Studio awesomeness!

 Today I am sharing a super fun, BIG title, BIG impact, boy layout with the fabulous new 

BOYS RULE collection.  

Here's my layout,

"Wanderlust"

Yay! I love a big title, and backed with the awesome BOYS RULE papers - well, it just doesn't get any better than this! Love it! And speaking of love, how cute is my little adventurer in the photo?! Such a cool lil guy! One Of A Kind, indeed!

My layout begins with the reverse side of pattern paper, CV-BR008 ENTITLED for the base. I trim white cardstock to 11"x11" and stitch it to the base. Next, I cut the Paige Evans Wanderlust cut file from the Silhouette Store, enlarging it to 11 1/2" high. I back the letters with what looks like lots of different papers; but it's actually ALL from pattern paper CV-BR004 FUN & GAMES. How cool is that?! I love the varying designs within the one paper - SO many creative possibilities!

Here's a closer look....

Loving all those cool patterns! The woodgrain hyphen is from the reverse side of this paper too! So much awesome from one sheet of paper! To add to it's impact, I embellish the large pattern paper title with CHIPBOARD PIECES and DIE CUT & MISCELLANY EPHEMERA.

I also machine stitch the black sentiment tags onto the layout. Lots of messy threads, texture and a little bit of 'raw' on this otherwise clean design.

How cool is that CHIPBOARD PIECES skull n crossbones icon?!! All kinds of awesome!

Let's take a closer look at my photo cluster.....

You'll spy that I have layered my photo onto a combination of MISCELLANY & DIE CUT EPHEMERA. Between these layers, I slide a few ACCESSORY STICKERS too! But it's the FLAIR BUTTON adorning my photo that I just can't get enough of! King Of The World - just perfect!

Below my photo I also include  the 'boy' CLEAR STICKER, and that awesome die cut too!

For finishing touches, I add more random cotton threads, and those dimensional black drops. Simple. Striking & Oh-so-fun!

I am absolutely loving creating with the new BOYS RULE line, & I am sure you will too!

Paper Issues: June: Put It On An Angle

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back for more Paper Issues awesomeness with my take on the 

Put It On An Angle challenge!



As the name suggests, this challenge is all about featuring a visual angle on your layout!
So super fun and easy to play along with; even the slightest tilt counts!

I couldn't wait to get creating for this!

Here's what I came up with to inspire you....

"Lovely" 

She's truly lovely at any angle! 

Sigh! Such a pretty page for my sweet girl!

You'll spy the beautiful Maggie Holmes Flouirsh collection, as well as Nuvo Drops in Bubblegum Pink and Gold, and that divine  6x6 Stencil from Carta Bella. 

Let's take a closer look......

So many gorgeous details, layers and pretty embellishments! 

I even machine stitched and stamped on this layout too! 

I am especially loving the vellum ephemera pieces, including my title Lovely. 

Seriously, you can hardly even tell it's vellum! So beautifully designed!

And while we're looking so closely, take a peak at those Nuvo Drops! 

Enamel dots for years! Absolutely loving them! 

I now need a bottle in every color - SO good! 

You'll also spy lots of pretty Die Cut Epemera pieces tucked in and around my angled photo cluster. 

Beneath it all is that fabulous gold stamped stencil, which I also applied on an angle to keep my design cohesive and easy to look at. 

All those Flourish pretties!!!

Paper Issues: June: What's Going Down?

Hi Creatives!

Welcome back for more Paper Issues awesomeness!

Today I am playing along with another NEW challenge -

This challenge is super fun! 

To play along, simply create your layout in the bottom third of your page!
All the focus is on the base - simple!

Here's what I came up with....

"Beautiful Day"

Sigh! 

How dreamy and delicate is this?!! 

Oh.so.preeeeeeetty! 

This is one of my favourite photos of my tiny danseur! Such a beautiful ballerina!

I have used the gorgeous Crate Paper: Maggie Holmes Flourish collection for this sweet page, as well as some of those fabulous Nuvo Crystal Drops. 

I've kept to a really soft and pretty color palette, including those tiny pops of blue! 

Here's a closer look.....

Oh how stunning is that gold leaf trim?!!

Loving all the gold foil - it really adds that wow factor! 

And speaking of wow, how about that veneer frame!?!! 

I just love that touch of vintage whimsy! 

Butterflies, florals, and those crystal drops make for such a lovely, feminine page!
