"Beauti-Fall" - 12 x 12 inch scrapbook layout

With the change in seasons, I thought it might be time to create some Fall themed projects!
And the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Hello Beautiful was perfect for this!

Such a beautiful page! Let's take a closer look...

Wow! This is really stunning!
You'll spy that I used my blending ink tool with the coloring stencil and Caramel Toffee Pigment Ink to create a base of falling Autumn leaves. So awesome!

I inked the gorgeous florals in Sapphire Pigment Ink, and proceeded to layer them over my falling leaves, and my sweet boy's photograph!

As always, the sentiments included in this project kit were really lovely! For a crisp and clear result, I stamped mine in permanent black crisp dye ink

A sprinkle of enamel dots completed my page. Gorgeous!

Hip Kit Club: Recipe Challenge with a Thankful Theme

Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more October 2020 Hip Kit awesomeness!

Today I'm sharing my take on the Recipe Challenge happening over in the Hip Kit Club Facebook Group. The  Design Team also have the additional challenge of including a Thankful theme, yay! I love a good challenge, and this one is tons of fun!

Check it out...

Told you it was fun! Here's what I came up with...

"Thankful For You"

Oh my heart! Could he be any more adorable?! Thankful beyond measure for this cool kid!

And how amazing are the October 2020 Hip Kits?!! I mean seriously, SO gorgeous! You'll spy the October 2020 Main, Embellishment and Cardstock Kits here, and let me tell you, I had a hard time deciding what to use -  I just LOVE it all!

Let's take a better look at my layout....

From his adorable face to that sweet Simple Stories fox, (and let's be honest - everything in between) this page just makes my heart so happy! I love documenting the season of Fall & the Thankful theme is just an added bonus! Giving thanks, showing gratitude & being grateful are such important values in our  everyday family life, so that really makes this challenge perfect for me!

For the stitching element, I ran my sewing machine through the reverse side of the Hip Kit Club exclusive Grandma's House - Softly Quilted paper. I left the cotton threads attached, and distressed the base of this paper for added texture and interest too! So effective! Beneath it is a trim of the reverse side of Crate Paper's Fresh Bouquet, Wild Rose. The strong contrast of warm florals against crisp blue polka dots is really striking and made this the perfect place to position my sweet boy's photos.

To incorporate more patterned papers into my page, I mounted his photographs onto a couple of tags which I fussy cut from the Simple Stories, Cozy Days Tags paper.  I hole punched these tags and tied some natural twine bows  to them as well, which created a more authentic look.  And while I had my fussy cutting scissors handy, I just had to cut out some of the foliage from the Crate Paper Fresh Bouquet Wild Rose paper, as well as the Simple Stories Cozy Days Harvest Wishes paper. Those fussy cuts are stunning! Actually, I think it's pretty safe to say that every paper from the Main and Paper Kits are stunning! It almost hurt to cut them into pieces!

When it came to  enhancing the falling leaves photo cluster,  I just had to use all.the.things from the  October 2020 Embellishment Kit!  You'll spy a few of the Pebbles: The Avenue Floral Ephemera, the Sticker Book stickers and those divine Gold Puffy Leaf Stickers. There's also those amazing Amy Tangerine: Late Afternoon Tortoise Shell Hearts (I removed the paper clips with my craft pliers to make them more versatile) & the Simple Stories Cozy Days Foam Phrase Stickers. Here's a closer look for you...

I really adore those Amy Tangerine Tortoise Shell Hearts!

As the challenge called for Chipboards, I added a few small chippie hearts to the embellishment cluster, as well as that darling fox from the Simple Stories Cozy Days Chipboard Stickers. That striking Simple Stories Washi Tape (another amazing item from the Embellishment Kit) is used to trim the base of my layout, and really supports that rich Gold Puffy Phrase Stickers title. For finishing touches, I flicked a bit of vermillion red paint from my stash. Those splatters really complete the page!

I hope that my take on this week's Hip Kit Club Recipe Challenge has inspired you to play along! See more  challenge inspiration, and upload your entry, in the Hip Kit Club Facebook Group HERE. I can't wait to see what you create!

Hip Kit Club: October Hip Kit Inspiration!

 Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club inspiration!

Today I am sharing a mood board inspired page, and boy oh boy is November's mood board a spectacular one! Created by the very talented Emilie Chamel, it's bound to give you all the cozy Fall feels!

Here's what the November mood board looks like...

 Sigh! Such a seasonal beauty!

From the acorns to the wreath of leaves, those pumpkins and that kindness matters image  - this is one very inspirational board!

But enough chatter, here's what it encouraged me to create with our stunning October 2020 Hip Kits!

Oh my heart! This is truly one for the love of Fall! Let's take a better look...

All.the.Fall.feels! Love this! This season always makes my creative heart so happy - from the rich colors to the thankful sentiments, I am in my element! To enhance the warmth of this Autumn page, I decided to use a Kraft cardstock (October 2020 Cardstock Kit) as my base instead of my usual go-to white. White cardstock is so fresh and crisp, but Kraft is warm and cozy - perfect for Fall!

With my base in place, it was time to pick my papers, and I just couldn't go past the B side of Amy Tangerine's Late Afternoon - Warm and Cozy. That burgundy color is just divine, and the diagonal leaf pattern inspired me to 'cut along the line' dictating my overall page design. I also couldn't go past that fussy cutter's dream paper - Simple Stories' Cozy Days - Harvest Wishes.  Those fussy cut, falling leaves are errrrrything! They really create such flow and movement in my page. I tucked a bunch of them under my diagonal cuts, and arranged them so they looked like they were falling across my page. The golden leaves from The Avenue Puffy Stickers, courtesy of the October Embellishment Kit, really enhanced this look. They also added extra dimension and more warmth too!

To complete these two focal points on my page, I embellished with the Simple Stories Cozy Days Chipboard Stickers from the October 2020 Main Kit. Those falling acorns are my faves!

Speaking of Simple Stories chippies, those Chipboard Frames were outta the packet and on my photo before I could even consider it! So adorable, and as my photo is a color one, it really helps to make it stand out and not get lost amongst all the Fall pretties! With so many warm and rich colors, I decided to adorn my frame with a couple of the soft pink Simple Stories Foam Stickers (October Embellishment Kit). The use of pink cuts through all the richness, balances the page & like the chippie frame, draws your eye into my photo first. Perfect!

The Simple Stories Chipboard Stickers worked beautifully for my title, and Jen Hadfield's The Avenue sticker book stickers were great for adding snip-its of my story!

You can see why fall is my favorite season to document! So beauti-Fall!

I hope my project has inspired you to get creating with your October 2020 Hip Kits today!

Please be sure to share your lovely creations with us in the Hip Kit Club Facebook Group HERE!

We really do love seeing what everyone creates with the fabulous Hip Kits!

Elle's Studio: October Product Focus: Jewel Polka Dot Paper

 Hi Friends!

Welcome back for more Elle's Studio inspiration!

Today I am shining the product spotlight on the gorgeous new Jewel Polka Dot 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack! It's no secret that I love a good patterned paper, but polka dots in all the colors?! Oh yes, please!!!

Inspired by my Autumn days family photograph, and all the Fall feels, I created a very warm and cozy, patchwork style layout with the Jewel Polka Dot papers...

"Heart Full"

How sweet is this?!
SO cute for Fall!

Other Supplies: Bazzill Cardstock - Avalanche, Sewing needle & thread.

Let's take a closer look at this fun design!

October always evokes those warm & cozy feels, thankful thoughts and lots of family time. Literally, my 'heart is full of gratitude' and this little sentiment (a die cut from the October 2020 Kit)  inspired my patchwork design to incorporate a heart pattern.

To prepare this layout, I trimmed a mix of the Jewel Polka Dot papers into 3" x 3" squares, and then sliced them into half diagonally to create my triangle 'patches'.

Top Tip: Like all good quilters will tell you, this design requires precision! Measure twice, cut once! Be sure to line up all your squares & triangles before gluing into place.

I used warmer colors to mimic the fallen leaves in my photograph, and arranged them into a geometric heart design on my white cardstock base. I really liked the notion of my heart is full, exploding if you will, with gratitude and hence my decision to keep the heart slightly oversized, stretched out to the very edges of my page.

I glued all the triangles into position, and then chose to hand sew a chunky, straight stitch around the heart. This stitching not only creates definition and interest to the heart, but also enhances that quilted look. Love it!

I backed my 6" x 4" photograph with the green Jewel Polka Dot paper as this color features in my photograph and it also contrasts beautifully with the colors in the heart. I also layered  the 6" x 4" woodgrain journal card from the October Kit behind my photo, and tucked in that sweet family time sentiment too! I positioned my photo cluster onto the center of my heart, and embellished with a mix of Autumn Wood Veneers & Acrylic Leaves.

I loved how that green Polka Dot paper 'popped' on the heart, so I decided to cut out a few triangles in the green paper to surround the heart design and enhance the look of the 'quilted square'. This really trimmed my page and brought the whole look together.
For finishing touches, I foam mounted that 'Heart Full of Gratitude' die cut and layered it onto my photo.

Autumn creating made oh so lovely with the Jewel Polka Dot 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack papers!

I hope it inspired you!

Hip Kit Club: Beautiful FALL Layout & Process Video

Hi  Friends!

Welcome back for more Hip Kit Club: October Kit inspiration!
Today I am sharing a really beautiful and elegant Fall themed page featuring one of our subscriber exclusive cut files, fussy cut pieces and those amazing Vellum Die Cut Leaves from the October 2019 Main Kit.
There are so many gorgeous papers and embellishments in this month's kits, and I just couldn't resist using quite a few of them, as well as drawing on the stunning colors that feature throughout all the kits.
But enough chatter, let's get straight into it!

Here's my layout,

"Beautiful FALL"

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_01

Beautiful, indeed!
Those colors are just errrything!!!
Such a classic & elegant Fall page that not only captures the colors of the season, but also the joy it brings! I couldn't be more grateful for my two children - so very blessed!
Here's better view of my scrapbook page...

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_03

Like the subjects in my Fall photo, the colors in this month's kits totally have my heart!
Inspired by my treasured photograph and the very whimsical trees on pattern paper #7 from the Pink Paislee: Paige Evans Truly Grateful collection, I knew I just had to create a pink and blue Fall page. I started by fussy cutting a bunch of those gorgeous trees from paper #7 courtesy of the October 2019 Main Kit, as well as backing the Beautiful FALL cut file with the Bazzill Typhoon Cardstock from the October 2019 Cardstock Kit
While I was in a fussy cutting mood, you'll spy that I also cut along the scallop edge of Truly Grateful pattern paper #4 (also from the Main Kit), and then repeated this fussy cutting on a strip of that gorgeous Bazzill Typhoon Cardstock.

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_06

I machine stitched those two scallop trims together at the top of my Bazzill Avalanche Cardstock base, and then embellished the top left corner with HKC Exclusive Cozy Up Die Cuts from the Main Kit and Cozy Up Cardstock Stickers from the Embellishment Kit.

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_05

The bulk of my layout occurs in the second third of the page and is a myriad of those gorgeous colors, patterns and textures. I combined lots of those paper #7 trees with the similar styled HKC Exclusive Cozy Up Chipboard Stickers to create a whimsical forest appearance. I fussy cut & adhered the Pinkfresh Studio: Just A Lil Lovely: Chit Chat banners slightly below the center, and then foam mounted my darling photo over the top trim of them.
For a striking title, I not only backed the cut file with the one dominant blue color, I also embellished it with a complementary colored chipboard sticker bow. This clever use of color really pops and brings attention to both my photo and it's title. Perfect!

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_07

I trimmed each 'side' of the cut file with those stunning Pretty Little Studio: Indian Summer: Vellum Die Cut Leaves and added some machine threads and HKC Exclusive Cosy Up Chipboard Stickers to complete the look.

HKC_AmandaBaldwin_Nov12th_BLOG_04

A really striking and BeautiFALL page!
You can see more of this layout, including how it all came together, in my process video HERE.
Thanks so much for watching!
I hope I have inspired you to get creating with our amazing October Kits and Digital Cut Files!

"Thankful, Blessed, Grateful"

WOW!!!
Isn't this gor-jus?!!
You'll spy most of the stamps from the Perfectly Wonderful Stamp Set here, and I couldn't help but use all the metal dies too!
Here's a closer look for you...

Absolutely stunning!!!
I've combined the August 2019 Hip Kits (in particular lots of Pink Paislee: Paige Evans: Truly Grateful collection), and the Gum Drops sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps with the Perfectly Wonderful Stamp & Blessed Crafting Dies set to create this lovely page.
I started my layout by die cutting my two titles (and a few leaves) in smooth goldfoil cardstock.

I just love how effective this looks!
I mean, those script words are errrrything!!!!
SO incredibly good!
& even better, they cut like butter!!!
Yay for user friendly, beautiful script, word dies!

Here's an even closer look....

You'll also spy that amazing arrow stamp!
I repeat stamped it onto some smooth white cardstock in black ink. I fussy cut the arrows out, foam mounted them for added dimension and used them to embellish my title.

Speaking of repeat stamping, you'll notice that I repeated the leafy vine in clementine dye ink to trim the base of my layout. I also stamped up a variety of the leaf & vine stamps onto my page using both red & orange inks. Gorgeous!
To build up the page, and add even further texture & dimension, I used the leaves metal dies on some  pattern paper from the Paige Evans Truly Grateful collection. This really creates interest to the design, and adds that extra wow!

For finishing touches, I stamped a number of the sentiments in black ink across my scrapbook page.

So very beauti-Fall!
I hope I have inspired you to get creating with these wonderful products!
